The thing with zendaya and nudity is probably because she told Sam she’s not comfortable doing those types of scenes. It also happened in his film Malcolm and Marie and she only stripped down to a spaghetti strap and underwear. Tbh I respect her for standing her ground and doing what she’s comfortable with and setting boundaries with directors. It seems like the majority of actresses that do serious dramas/projects are expected and even forced to bare everything while their male counterparts only get to baring their ass.
@marshmallow91262 жыл бұрын
I agree, but I think the issue is that she was allowed to negotiate, probably, because she’s a big actress and the smaller-scale actresses are not allowed to. They get fired if they speak up and are forced into these nude scenes if they want to be included at all. A lot of people are taking out of context the whole - why wasn’t zendaya nude in that scene. Not because they want to see her naked, because others didn’t have a choice, so why is she the only one who’s fully covered, I’ve read a lot about Sydney trying to negotiate the amount of nudity she has to portray, because damn she’s more naked than anyone and anything. Honestly it’s just too much of her in any regard, but that’s my opinion. BUT I think there’s just a tad bit too much nudity in general, I totally get what it’s trying to portray and honestly it makes me feel more comfortable in general and it kind of makes nudity less taboo than it is in the world, but still, a little bit too much, especially on the boob shots.

I feel like Nate is in love with the idea of being in love with taboo women. Seeing his dad's videos and who he was sleeping with, Nate thinks that in order to be a better version of his dad yet socially acceptable is to fetishize and objectify women. However, with Jules he was able to experience liberation from generational curses and social perception. With Jules she speaks her mind as it is but is also a genuine person who never judges based on presentation and interests. I feel like he used the recording of his dad and Jules as an excuse to double cross her but in reality he was interested in knowing how she functioned. Still, given Jules's Transness and history with his dad, he feels like he can't love her or protect from the world he barely mamages to navigate and survive in. As far as women go, Maddy is the mold of the people his dad slept with, Jules is the wild card that always keeps him guessing, and Cassie is the replacement that desperately nurtures him. Even if he were to truly love one of the three or all of them, he wouldn't be able to chose out of fear from what he lacks. I both dislike Nate yet pitty him. In the end, majority of his life outcomes come from his actions as an individual.

i don't like any analysis involving cassie that takes away her part in all of this - she's not helpless nor is she being manipulated here. in fact out of all three girls nate's been with on the show he manipulates her the least, and maddy the most. rather cassie is definitely manipulating him as much as she can. she's had her heart set on gaining his attention from the get go. bc of what it will mean for her self esteem to gain him. she's not a victim hereof nate. yet. she's ultimately this season a victim of her own issues.

I think there are too many sex and just sexual scenes in general and I do get that it’s portraying the “horniness” of teenagedom and just in general sexual awakening. BUT my hot take is that for me personally all the nudity kind of makes it more comfortable with me, I feel like the modern world, while being on the rise of equality and acceptance still portrays nudity as this huge taboo thing, I’m not saying everyone should wear spaghetti straps or sling their junk out, I’m saying this show makes me personally very “nonchalant” about nudity and sex in general. It doesn’t make it weird, it makes it just as much a part of life as anything else and I appreciate that.
@gloomy.y2 жыл бұрын
it’s for more of a shock factor over everything. which personally i love. the human bodies are in fact work of arts. but in reality, minors are doing these things. it’s all apart of being a teenager and it’s apart of the mistakes we make sometimes. hence Cassie sleeping with Nate🤠i think it makes it feel more realistic

I have quickly grown to love watching Euphoria. Its insanely graphic and often hard to watch at times, but I think its so important that a lot of what is being shown is being shown. The truth about teens private lives these days. I lost my best friend when she was 17 to hard drugs. I just want more awareness to spread about a lot of the deeper and darker issues people are facing. And I really love the way the show doesn't hold back. Its jarring, but I personally think it may be needed. Also Fez is just incredible this season. Ugh. I'm so stoked to see where things are headed.

She’s just ignorant to the problematic shit she says. Not necessarily an excuse, she’s old enough to educate herself, but where I live and grew up girls talk like that alll the time /: it’s sad but it’s reality. It’s less now but still happens for sure.

I'm not sure if anyone has commented this yet, but even if Zendaya is the only person who hasn't been naked on the show yet why does it matter? I really don't understand why people are upset about not seeing her naked yet .. just watch the show and enjoy the plot.
@marshmallow91262 жыл бұрын
Because why does Sydney have to get naked on and on and on and complain about it to her directors, while big star actresses can actually negotiate. The problem isn’t - I wanna see her naked, because everyone else has been. The problem is - Why does Zendaya get to say no and no other woman(or man for that matter) can’t? Or is pressured not to even try, because they don’t want to have the possibility of losing their job.
@luna10.2 жыл бұрын
@@marshmallow9126 that’s a whole other situation though .. the argument shouldn’t be “zendaya should get naked just because Sydney constantly has to” it should be “why does the director constantly make Sydney get naked on screen when she doesn’t want to.” This has nothing to do with Zendaya’s body. She shouldn’t even be brought into the conversation when it’s about Sydney and the director. It’s weird and creepy that people are upset Zendaya hasn’t gotten naked yet no matter what the “argument” is.
@patriece22152 жыл бұрын
@@marshmallow9126 nobody is forced into anything. Being nude on a tv show isn’t a consequence the actor has to go thru. Sydney Sweeney is more comfortable nude so she’s nude the most. Hunter is comfortable with being nude so she has a few nude scenes. Zendaya doesn’t wanna be nude so she’s not.
@sevynwonders2 жыл бұрын
you and a lot of others are taking the conversation way out of context. the reason why zendaya is apart of the conversation is because of her status as an immensely popular actress, as opposed to others in the cast who are less known. the point is that big actresses like zendaya get to have a say, they can negotiate nudity scenes and if they don't want to do them then nine times out of ten, they can keep their role without the nudity- then you look at smaller actresses like sydney and alexa who don't really want to be nude as much as they are in the show, but they can't negotiate like zendaya or other big actresses can, because they don't have the same status; they're replaceable to these directors because nobody knows who they are. that's literally the whole reason zendaya is apart of the conversation, try thinking critically.
@marshmallow91262 жыл бұрын
@@sevynwonders exactly, that’s what I meant with my comment, I agree that asking for ANYBODY to be nude is disgusting, but the point is that the big actress can say no but the smaller actresses can’t.

I see a lot of comments about being annoyed, and you’d laugh at me, but Noel Miller had a good point. Everyone is annoyed and “hates” on the show or specific episodes, because some character did this and that. But have you stepped back and thought about a lot of them being teenagers. They are supposed to be or atleast are very understandably frustrating, emotional, indecisive, making bad decisions. That’s the point of them having all these issues and the show portrays it very well. They are not supposed to be these rational all-knowing smart adults that know what’s right and wrong. Of course, doing drugs is bad and stealing is bad and dealing is bad and hammering a head is bad, I’m just saying in general teenagers are frustrating and don’t hate on it just because you don’t have these problems or can’t comprehend how they could make those decisions.
