It is sad for sure, but it had more to do with it than that. Bud had already been on the hot seat in 21’ prior to them winning the chip, and certainly would’ve been fired if they had lost to the nets. 08 championship, tenure in the league, knowing how to say the right things for interviews especially for a team desperate for a new head coach. Doc should be the coach of like the pistons or in other words a bad team who's floor he can raise, that's what he's been good at. He doesn't know how to make the most out of superstar players. The bucks are completely lost and listless on defense. They're getting killed on hustle stats. Dame and Giannis, they're just relying on sheer talent rather than anything to get them to gel together on plays and make the most out of each of their talents. At least when they were bad it was exciting to see them do well- but the experience of seeing them have 2 mvp caliber players but play soulless, no chemistry basketball and playing well under expectations is so much worse than when they just had a bad team for ages. 2015 playoffs were one of my favourites because they came off a 15-67 season and managed to have a bounce back 41-41 year and took a good bulls team to 6 where it kindve looked like maybe they could make a run at a 3-0 comeback. @chrissennfelder724928 күн бұрын
Dame and Giannis can't play together. Giannis sucks at setting picks and doesn't move well without the ball. Dame clearly is on the way down, his shot has become very inconsistent, he's also doesn't look as crisp on drives like he used to. So their offense boils down to them taking turns with some random 3s by the others. Their defense... sucks. Ja exposed them yesterday. Brook isn't fast enough anymore. Giannis will always be a plus defender, but he's not a rim protector. Playing drop requires elite perimeter defense. So unless Middleton somehow returns and stays on the court, they're cooked.
@xtravagancy702328 күн бұрын
I think dame and giannis can match, I just don’t understand how there hasn’t been any progress or improvement with them matching. Like idk if it’s coaches holding them back or stubbornness from one or the other but like fuck man work it out, change how you play and I promise you it’ll be for the best. Giannis sucks at setting screens if he can get that down I think there will be some immediate improvement, he just needs to work on that.
@chrissennfelder724928 күн бұрын
@@xtravagancy7023 Let's be realistic: Giannis turns 30 soon. He won't turn into a different player, just look at his FT shooting. He is who he is, and honestly, that's totally ok. Some of the issues definitely are related to coaching. I know, Bud sucked at making adjustments during the playoffs. But he also built this team from scratch and led them to a title. Since they've fired him, they kinda lost their identity.
@xtravagancy702328 күн бұрын
@ I think something like setting a screen more effectively can be learned. Look at Brook Lopez, he was known as a paint player and defender now he’s evolved into a deep shooter (hasn’t seemed like it this year but) around the same age as giannis if not even a few years later. Same thing with a superstar duo like Shaq and Kobe, Shaq was the man in Orlando, paired up with Kobe and changed how he played to more effectively use their duality and look what it led to. Players can absolutely change but I do agree that firing Bud and resorting to inferior coaches is the root of the problem and was the start of what we see now.
@orionsimerl653928 күн бұрын
What Dame needs to understand is Giannis is Giannis every night. The offense shouldn't be Giannis and Dame, it should be Giannis and Dame accepts his role as a supporting team member. Dame can still have his nights, have runs, and have his moments, but let it happen, don't look for it. The Bucks won because it was Giannis and everybody else, and Dame needs to be an everybody else. He should have spent the summer watching film, seeing how Bledsoe, and Holiday played with Giannis and to do those things and take that approach. He don't want to win. The Bucks won consistently for 5 seasons because Giannis is the most consistent player in the league. He's 25 to 50, 10 to 15 and 5 to 10, every night. Still the best player in the league. Nobody would join MJ and think they're going 50/50 on offense. Giannis is the team and Dame needs to work towards that. Giannis doesn't go 1 for 12 4 points, 2 rebounds 6 assists on 30 plus minutes.
@longlivetheblackmamba2-8-2428 күн бұрын

Hot take, and I said this as the trade was being finalized: Jrue is better than Dame. And way better for the Bucks’ roster construction.

Right now yeah he’s better. Not even really a hot take as for who’s the better fit coz Bucks essentially have no perimeter defence
@chrissennfelder724928 күн бұрын
Jrue is one of the best perimeter defenders of his generation. Dame is willing to hustle, but that's about it. Giving up Jrue has completely destroyed their defensive identity. Jrue also didn't need the ball in his hands on offense all the time. Dame is ball dominant which creates problems with Giannis who also benefits from a high usage rate. It's simply a bad fit.

Jrue is a better role player

I hope Giannis goes to Golden State. Seriously, nothing would make me happier. He deserves it, the league deserves it, Steph deserves it.

He should go to the thunder. Instant title favorites
@omarhasan0328 күн бұрын
@tommartyn524 the thunder would have to give up so much of their title prospects that it wouldn't move the needle like you think. Plus, the Thunder are already contenders so making that move is really a sidestep. Plus Giannis wouldn't really want to play there which makes it a net loss.
@tommartyn52428 күн бұрын
@ you’re making a lot of assumptions. What makes you think Gianni’s wouldn’t want to play there. It’s not like the bucks are a big market

@@tommartyn524 according to every report about giannis wanting a trade, OKC has never been a point of interest.

Giannis one of the most overrated sportist ever. He had luck in 2021 because the Denver was injury and almost all teams were injured He is so bad in clutch Terrible 3 pts Terrible free throws Very average bb iq Atrocity midrange Overrated defender He doesnt makes other better
