I felt so bad for Yuna before she skated her free skate in Sochi..The Russians were chanting Adelina's name loudly and blowing loud noises to interrupt her mentally. Despite this, she pulled through it amazingly and left me with such a precious memory of her skating. ~Queen of Ice~

People always compare figure skaters to other figure skaters. Honestly speaking, Kim Yuna cannot be compared to anyone. She's in her own league, and is a legend of her sport. It's amazing to look at her achievements, and how she managed to remain so humble in spite of her fame. For me, she's the epitome of figure skating, and her legacy is still growing even though she didn't win her second OGM.

She decided to come back and participate her second Olys not for her personal glory or fame but for a much more noble cause, which is to provide the opportunity of experiencing the Olympic stage for next generation skaters in her nation. Considering the nature of this sport, I find her truly inspiring not only as an athlete but as a person as well. It's heart-breaking that this would be the last time to see the 'Queen' on the competitive ice but surely it'd be a beautiful 'Adios'.

But, you see, there WERE clowns; and, they won the unanimous wrath of the world for their collective atrocity passing off as professionalism deliberations and verdict. You got it in one: those shameless "judges" crumbling to public pressure. Anyway, there may have been a clown or two on the ice in the past that bagged the gold. At Sochi 2014, unfortunately for the sublime Yuna, they were hiding behind the monitors wreaking mischief. 😁

Not only Yuna Kim is big in figure ice skating, she also has a big heart for charity. She has donated over $1.7 million as of Oct 2009 and is continuing her charitable contributions in many ways. I hope Yuna wins the gold!!!

The subs didnt capture everything she said but i liked how she said "dont be greedy" and build upwards "like you're going up the stairs"... the russians obviously didnt listen to her advice... they were really greedy and now the judges ruined a fine young girl's career, it was the russian girl's first olympics and she got a gold MANY people including regular folk didnt agree on... she will forever have a controversy on her back because her country was greedy. They should have took Yuna's advice.

During the 2014 Olympics held in Russia Sotnikova (a Russian girl who was out in her first olympics) won the gold medal even if she had some visible mistakes because her "artistic" points were high. A lot of people disagreed even making a petition to give Yuna the gold and Sotnikova's behavior afterwards didn't help her cause (because she left in the middle of the interview with all the medalist WHILE Yuna was talking). People literally from all over the world were pissed off and said Russia was showing favoritism and the judges were biased so the whole thing was dug around. Now Sotnikova gets a lot of hate and I feel like she'll forever be the "one who stole the gold in '14" From an objective point of view (having learned figure skating for a while when I was younger and having continued to enjoy watching it for years) Sotnikova actually had a lot of potential and she was very promising, but the country's greed to sweep gold medals and rake them in was detrimental to her career. Now whatever she does will be criticized and judged much harsher. People will look at her through a colored lenses and that in turn will probably stress her out much more when she's going international. I actually feel quite sorry that she had her career ruined by greed.

officialkpopfan Don't feel sorry for Adelina. She truly believed that she deserved the gold. I doubt she wants your pity or anyone's tbh. And yeah her career is over now basically...she can never come back to compete without being under intense scrutiny. If she had competed in the 2014 Worlds, I think she would've placed 4th. Now, her skills have deteriorated so much that it's just unbelievable how she was the "Olympic Champion". Even Yulia didn't fall that badly after Sochi.
