the thief on the cross was there with the Redeemed. The only truth that could save and forgive sins. the bible says, God save whom He will and have mercy on whom He will. After the Lord went back to Glory He told the disciples to go to Jerusalem til he receive the promise. Peter after his conversion told the men in Acts 2 vs 38 to get baptized , baptism is important to God, you identify with His death. Also its obedience to the Lord. May we search for truth. Amen

The thief on the cross was not baptized in water ! he was saved ! JESUS used him to prove it's HIS BLOOD that saves not water ! Water can be an idol ! You don't have to speak in tongues to be saved ! Thief proved that ! Go by the word of GOD , not man made up religion !

Was the thief saved under the gospel of Jesus Christ? Does the Bible teach that people today can be forgiven by faith alone without being baptized?

Ben Gray.. listen friend the thief was saved because the spirit was not given... so God saved who he will but after he died he gave the spirit in acts: 2-38

@Ben Gray Hey bro, not here to argue but just mention a simple scripture for you to read. 1 Peter 3:20-21

The thief on the cross lived and died in a time period before the outpouring of the Holy Ghost. when the Holy Ghost (Jesus Christ) was poured out in Acts 2:4, Acts 10:43-48, Acts 19:4-6 all spoke in tongues and all were baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, therefore the New Testament sign of the Holy Ghost is speaking in tongues. “Paradise” is in reference to Abraham’s bosom, not heaven.

Mark 16:16-17: He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved, but he that believeth not shall be damned. (17) And these signs shall follow them that believe, in my name shall they cast out devils, they shall speak with new tongues. John 3:5: Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. Acts 2:4: And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance. Acts 2:38: Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. 1Peter 3:21: The like figure whereunto, even baptism doth also now save us, (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ. in the Greek, Baptism is “baptizo” which means full immersion, so there is no way that the word “baptism” is figurative speech. James 2:24: Ye see then how that by works a man is Justified, and not by faith only. Those who don’t speak in tongues do not have the Holy Ghost.
