Grief is a hard battle and I’m learning as I go. I miss having my lil Supawvisor in the studio with me when making videos, livestreaming or editing. Again, thanks for all the support, I know we’ll get through this!

Once you’ve shared the love dogs bring us it’s impossible not to give another wee soul the chance at the great life you gave Gus, take time to grieve then always think what an amazing existence it is coming out running with their pack

Adopt another pup as soon as possible. Gus would want you to love again and give another dog a loving home.

Glad to hear you survived the storm. Sorry to hear of your loss. This is commonly attributed to Sir Walter Scott: "I have sometimes thought of the final cause of dogs having such short lives and I am quite satisfied it is in compassion to the human race; for if we suffer so much in losing a dog after an acquaintance of ten or twelve years, what would it be if they were to live double that time? The misery of keeping a dog is his dying so soon. But, to be sure, if he lived for fifty years and then died, what would become of me?"

We lost our cat last year on Christmas Day. It was very sudden, was fine all the way up until she vomited blood and passed away at the vet's. You just have to be happy you gave them the best life possible. It gets better.

Thanks so much for sharing this. I’m recovering from surgery and haven’t been able to see just how bad the trails in the issy alps got hit. Fun tidbit I heard is that the tree fall was particularly bad because as you said the winds came from the east and most of our big windstorms the winds came comes from the west and the root structures have developed to absorb the winds from that direction.

Grief is such a strange thing. Comes in waves… feel good some days and then out of nowhere it just hits. Take time when needed, everything else will still be here

So very sorry to hear about Gus. There was a quote I found particularly comforting when my Mom passed from cancer years ago. It was "Grief is proof that love persists." It helped me navigate the grieving process from that loss, and the way the grief changes over time. He'll continue to live in your memories of him, but I'm sure going to miss seeing/hearing him on the live streams.

I lost my beautiful dog Poppy in July. We had her since she was a few weeks old. She grew up with my two children. It's still hurts. I miss her like crazy. I just tell myself it's meant to be painful because of the love we have for her. Sending you both love from the UK. Chris

Hey dude - so sorry to hear about your loss. It's wild how hard it is to deal with losing a beloved pet, but like others have pointed out - you gave the wee doggo the best life possible. That's ultimately all we can do.

Hang in there. It is hard for some to comprehend, but the bonds we share with our furry friends go deep, very deep. And when tragedy hits, it takes a lot of heal. Be strong, and thanks for allowing us in during this difficult time.

It was definitely sad to hear about Gus . I have my Gus postcard over top of my desk I that I look at every day . Losing a friend like Gus is not easy. We lost our 13yo GSP and both of our Horses ( all due to old age) within about 6 weeks . It took us a couple of years to get another horse and even longer before we were ready for another dog . Now we have a almost 3 yo Yellow Lab after realizing how much the kids were missing out on having a dog in the house .

I'm so sorry to hear about Gus. Seeing your videos over the years you two were amazing family for him. Having lost my own Gus years ago, and having almost lost my little lady Scarlett earlier this year (she made it through a rather dire situation), I know that pain. I just remind myself that I have given all the love I can to these balls of fuzzy stardust, and that I am richer for having been able to be part of their lives.
