I just have a few questions. Why didn't Lily realise before marrying Ryle that she's in love with Atlas? Why does she only find out the wrongs of Ryle? And makes sure she writes it down so she doesn't forgive him. I felt like she's hell bent on hating Ryle. I felt Ryle loved her more than she felt for him.

She said that herself. She said that if Atlas wouldn’t have lied about Cassie he would chose Atlas over Ryle any day. Also she didn’t write only the bad things about Ryle. She wrote how it was worth it for her to stay with him for his bad moments just for his good moments. The only reason she divorced him was because of her daughter.

Honestly... I have the same doubt like I feel like it was lily's fault too rather than only ryle's fault. Is she loved him she shouldn't had broght the journals to her new apartment. Its okay with the magnet cause its something atlas gave for her to remember him but the journals were the main thing...she finished reading them but she still brought it to her new apartment......thats my point of view....

There is no way that domestic violence can be or should be justified and lily did the right thing by divorcing ryle...but i refuse to agree that lily was no where in the wrong...why did she not come clean with ryle before their marriage about her past when she discussed about the prospects of having children and donating in the charity etc...why did she not admit that she will always have a soft corner for atlas regarldless if they are together or not which is after their first encounter in restaurant (it justifies to keep the journals and all the memories of him) it might have prepared ryle about her feelings for atlas as well... I feel perhaps lily never loved ryle as much as she loved atlas or even as much as ryle loved her..
