IT is a masterpiece! My two favorite Stephen King books are IT and The Shining. I have every mass paperback of IT from 1st pressing up until now and I have 3 copies of the first pressings. I have misplaced my original hardback but I'm looking for a deal for a first pressing hardback online. I agree with your statement "King is the Beatles and IT is his white album!" Perfect analogy!

This was the first 1,000+ page book I ever read. I was just so hooked to the characters and the story. I was even hooked to the setting. The town of Derry was just so vivid and alive. I really felt like I was there and could see all the sights and smell all the smells (for better or for worse). And I fall into the group of people who liked the ending.

The first King book I read was 11-22-63 and I loved it. My favorite character in It was Ben. I agree the names were a bit hard to keep up with. I loved the friendships in It.

IT is in my top 5 King books. The second time I read it was, by accident, 27 years later, matching Pennywise's incubation period. Love that book.

This is my favorite King’s book. :) Good Review. BTW, I was about 17 when I read it and remember reading it at night with ALL the lights on. Some parts of the book scared the crap out of me. Others made me laugh. And some made me cry. I agree with you: it’s a masterpiece.

This is my favorite Stephen King story. The cosmic horror level the book goes to is just fantastic. I loved the miniseries when I was a kid, I taped it and watched it over and over. I didn't think much of the new movie.

Great review! I haven’t read any Stephen King, but lately, I’ve been compelled to do so. Especially since I’ve watched a lot of movies based on his work… as for IT, I watched the original TV series, as well as the newer movie adaptations (which scared the hell outta me lol), so it is definitely on my list! Now, on to watch the rest of your Stephen King reviews... 😂

You say creepy, I say cringey. So glad they left the children's ending out of the movies. ;)

There's no way in hell Hollywood would have put that shit in a film, even with the R rating.

You’d be a good actor man. You kinda give me that jack black vibe.

The best Stephen King books are Desperation, the first book by the author I ever read. The second I read was Pet Sematary. IT is good. But I was disappointed by 11.22.63.. A character list or a Dramatis Personae is a must with epic--sized novels. Pennywise's voice is a reincarnation of Oz the Gweat and Tewwible's voice in Pet Sematary.

You were disappointed by 11.22.63? That book was too damn good imo!

Brian, Nice review. "creepy" - love it. Are you not doing the non-fiction reviews, because you did not review Dance Macabre as far as I can see and I think you should review it to be a completist. Thanks for letting me bug you.

The death of Patrick Hockstetter was one of the scariest scenes I've ever read in any novel. So well written!

Ok is no one going to talk about how he considers the lord of the rings book as a trilogy??

IT and Darktower is his best works... The Stand is sooooo overrated.

The Green Mile and The Shining are my two favorites. After that I like The Dead Zone, and yes I'm sorry, The Stand lol
