I cut out four minutes worth of footage, mostly of the adults because they're nowhere near as funny or cute as the kids. It was getting tedious and I didn't want to push my luck re: copyright limits.

That is probably the SNES Super Advantage controller. The Super Advantage was similar to the NES Advantage but unlike the NES Advantage, the super advantage has a slow button, an eight direction joystick, the turbo sliders, and speed sliders

I will say i can relate to this. For my family it was the N64 and the game was Goemons great adventure. I was into it as a kid and never beat it until a few years ago thanks to the internet helping me find what i needed to progress. My dad picked up the game due to an injury which kept him at home for a while and since there wasn't much on tv back in the early 2000's he picked up our n64 just to pass some time and he got into it. The farthest he ever got though was the beginning of the fourth zone. He beat the previous zones and their bosses, but he just couldnt figure out how to progress. Heck my mom got invested during that time to.

I think some of this can be explained by the escalating cost of game development. You could experiment with releasing utter nonsense back then and stood to lose a lot less if it all went disastrously wrong. Today one badly received title could sink a studio.

Like I said, you can't just do whatever you want on KZbin without suffering the consequences... worldwide blocks, copyright strikes etc. Upload a long, unedited clip of someone else's copyright-protected IP and it's very unlikely to pass Google's checks and be made viewable to the public. The BBC for instance are especially keen on policing use of their shows. To get away with it you have to sample extremely short clips and then mix them up out of sequence.
