@@LilVeehive yeah, the story (no spoilers) is 2 prisoners in the late 20th century, escaping and trying to evade the law whilst getting revenge on the guy that put them there. So cursing, and gun violence (minor blood) there’s also a scene near the beginning where you view one naked from behind (it’s impossible to see him from the front) as he is being given his prison clothes etc. That’s all the ‘maturity’ I can think of, which is why I’m 80% sure jardon wouldn’t stream it (though it is safe for twitch, xqc and moxxy did a playthrough a few years back)

Just because I have a test on game balancing tomorrow: Chess is not a symmetrical game only because the white pieces always move first. If both sides moved at the same time, then it would be symmetrical. Chess also can only be solved in theory; on paper, there should be one perfect counteraction to every move, but the amount of variables that needs to be considered to find such counteraction is way more then a single human mind can comprehend.
@I_like_pi_
@I_like_pi_ 3 жыл бұрын
Not only is it more than a single human mind can comprehend, there are more possible chess games than atoms in the observable universe, so even a theoretical supercomputer made of all the matter in the universe wouldn't be able to compute a perfect response to every move. The endgame of chess is kind of like Kara said, though, as well as openings (kind of). The middle game is where there's a lot more strategy and creativity.

I love the story of this game, and the child blaming herself isn’t just understandable it’s realistic. I’ve heard of too many kids that thought that way and were never consoled on it by their parents... It never ends well for the family
@FenekkuKitsune
@FenekkuKitsune 3 жыл бұрын
There’s also the fact that - as sad as it is - some kids genuinely don’t realise something’s wrong when their parents become unresponsive. It’s not a sign of stupidity, it’s a sign of a lack of understanding, something they can and likely will grow out of. So, while it’s unlikely, Rose’s response to the situation isn’t unheard of. She wanted her parents to stop fighting, and when they became unresponsive she had time to think, spiralling into thoughts that it was her fault. Without her parents to guide her, she figured the only solution was to leave. I’m fairly certain that if you Google it, you will find articles about children living alone with their parent’s corpse in the house with them. In fact I’m fairly certain I’ve seen such articles. It’s simply that the child didn’t understand their parent was gone.

@@kadentamblyn7879 Well fake Frustration, Don’t Wake Dad, or Mousetrap etc. they are determined by a dice roll therefore are random as you can’t mirror your opponent unless the dice happens to give the same number. Or look to a game like falling monkeys in which you can’t mirror your opponent as the rods are to opposite sides or Jenga where if you take a middle piece you also can’t mirror. Chess however is mirrored across the centre and one can copy their opponent move for move if they so wish (to start with at least) same with draughts :)

I fully understand Kara when it comes to talking about a "symmetrical game". The chess board is always set up the exact same way - every time. There are always meta (and smarter) moves to do than others. If I was to play chess against someone who won tournaments - they'd most likely scoff at me stating why I didn't do X move or Y move over my Z move I chose to do. Unlike an FPS (team based, as basic as counter strike or unreal tournament, you name it) - the skill is based off of how you can react to a situation that is unpredictable. In Overwatch there are meta team compositions, but you never will *always* face the same heroes on the same map. The randomness of where you spawn in a spawn room, random real life distractions (itching eyes, a hiccup (be it in-game or real life), etc) - basically *anything* can shift the game into something that is entirely unpredictable. But in chess, you are defined by X moves. There is not an infinite amount of moves you can make - just like a rubiks cube; And before someone chimes in with a "There are an uncountable amount of this-or-that" - let me be clear: "There is not an infinite amount of moves you can make". Read that statement thoroughly. In any given situation of chess (or basically any board game or 3d puzzle like a rubiks cube) there are a very finite amount of moves you can make at any given time. Given those moves - there are obviously more advantageous moves than others. Some might be deemed complete mistakes, while others are purely options that give wiggle-room to future moves. There are a finite amount of moves needed to solve any rubiks cube efficiently, just like in chess there is always the "smartest" move. If you pit two computers who knew every single possible move in the world of chess, against each other in a game of chess, there would always be a stalemate/draw of two kings left on the board. We're talking two computers that calculate beyond comprehension right now (or just one very powerful computer, playing against itself). It's entirely predictable - and the only way one human wins over another in reality is by literally a mistake (of not thinking about a specific move). In an FPS, the mistake is your lack of reaction speed, aiming, the focus of a in-the-heat-of-it moments, etc. Play literally any FPS and no two games will feel perfectly the same because there are things you simply cannot calculate or fathom when it comes to shooters (in terms of RNG, timing, real life (or in game) distractions that change outcomes). But when you go against someone else in a predetermined, no random variable influenced outside of human control, environment/game - it's entirely predictable. Simply look at tic-tac-toe. If you know what you're doing (have the brain of an 8 year old or older) - you will always end that game in a draw against someone else. Scale that analogy to chess and you got the same issue. Sure, the different pieces that function different ways on a larger-scaled checker-boarded playing field makes for multiple situations where a human can make a mistake. But the thing is - that mistake is entirely calculatable. Before the player even lets go of a piece on a board, a supercomputer can already figure out if the move was optimal or a complete mistake. "The same can be said for gambling card games as well" - while true, you are dealing with something I stated before: "random variable". In poker - a computer that witnesses the poker tournament and knows everybody's hand and what's on the field can immediately tell you the odds of winning. The computer *can't* determine who would win until the next ( *usually* , I put in bold, final) card is drawn. In fact, nobody can tell - because even though the cards never shift in the deck and it's all predetermined before the first card was even given to a player (same as a board game of chess is predetermined), since nobody knows what the upcoming card is - you're all playing against lady luck and pure "RNG" to see who wins or who takes calculated risks. Same goes for any gambling game/table in a casino - you simply can't guarantee the outcome without cheating. Guaranteeing the outcome of a gambling game would be the same as me taking a pawn and just knocking every piece off the board but the king in one move, on the enemy side that is. So I understand that concept *entirely* - even if people in either chats gave opinions that aren't backed by fact itself. Never was a fan of chess anyways. There is more RNG and wiggle room for entertainment in a game of UNO than there is in a game like that. Not hatin' anyone who somehow finds enjoyment in it - I assume they find enjoyment in it the same as anyone finds enjoyment in minesweeper. From the first click, the game was already rigged from the start (an impossible 2x2 square) - or beatable. The only factor that must be hurdled is time itself. Same goes to chess; Surely after any match, if you were to review the moves, you'd know when you (or your opponent) screwed up hard. Just my few cents. Honestly... a dollar at this point.

It's hard for a child. If you can just stop loving each other then what's stopping you from doing the same with me? Isn't that what you used to say to each other? You will love each other forever?

A symmetrical game is like chess, tic tac toe, dots & boxes, checkers or connect four. If both players make perfect moves every turn, the game will end in a draw or the first to move will win.

Yo that ending with the kid almost ran away inspired of Primal Fear in me being an older brother sucks cuz even if I don't know that person or their kid I still get that innate fear of them coming into Danger

I was playing this game with my boyfriend and as I was playing it I couldn't stop the intruding though of my past boyfriends. Especially the last one, how he betrayed me in the most agonizing way possible, I couldn't get over him for two years and still think about it to this day, even as I now have a happy relationship with my new boyfriend. and as I was playing this game as Cody, this game ripped all of my contained emotions into the outside and when the ending happened with Cody and May rekindling their love for each other, even more as they kissed I broke down so badly, I started sobbing uncontrollably and couldn't bring ,myself to stop, just everything, every emotion I had locked up in me, every thought that was disturbing me in the past and now, just ramped up to 1000 and destroyed me. we finished this game last night and I cried few times as I woke up, I dreamed nightmares about my past exes.. This game is helping me to get everything out and just try and forget everything. But it broke me. I absolutely love this game, for me it was such an emotional ride trough my own consciousness.. does anyone else had similar experience with it? I swear to god, the ending when they kissed, it.. I cry as I write this..... the ending was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen
