At 19 you’re so far ahead of your peers it’s crazy. You’re really setting yourself up for life on easy mode down the road.

It's great to see that comapanies are willing to look past that graduation criteria and give chance to people who have actually put in the effort to learn and present themselves. I really appreciate how you approach studies, and your positive mindset about things, great video once again.

New to the channel and I'm always inspired and encouraged to see youth breaking down barriers and not just breaking into tech, but exceling. Amazing journey you've taken so far. Any technologies (e.g., microsegmentation, SSL decryption, reverse proxy, etc.) that you haven't worked on yet but are interested in?

Thanks man!! I would really like to get into cyber security topics, things like DLL side loading sound super interesting to understand. Since I was young, I always liked breaking things and finding loopholes (even for silly things like Minecraft duplication glitches) and that’s kind of what infosec is all about so I guess infosec as a whole is something I am excited to get more into…

I really felt inspired by your channel! I've recently been fired from my job due to lack of time because of school, but I'm going to graduate high school, and turn 18 in a month. Do you have any advice on what to do if I want to follow a career path similar to yours? I only have basic knowledge on AWS, terraform and ansible, but have been unlucky in getting any job so far. If you could give me any tips/recommendations on what you would do if you were in my situation, it'd really help me a lot. Thanks for the videos! :D

That’s awesome man!! I would definitely shoot for some certs and get some projects posted on LinkedIn! Also, don’t be afraid to apply for jobs you might not be qualified for on paper :)

@@ZeroDegreeTech I did put projects in my resume, but I forgot you could put them in LinkedIn lol Thanks for the advice!

I’m currently studying for my A plus exam, then net plus and ccna. I’m interested in cloud but heard one needs to learn all the essentials first.
@ZeroDegreeTech10 ай бұрын
Yes! I also would highly recommend getting a couple of those comptia certs prior to jumping into cloud, it makes the entire experience a little smoother! That being said, it’s not that you CANT study it, I would just finish up the A+, get the net+ and Ccna before going for an AWS cert, but have fun, if you want to learn cloud while getting those other certs, do it! :)

When should I get security plus? Would that even help or even be necessary ?
@ZeroDegreeTech10 ай бұрын
@@themango6140 it is necessary for government security roles. Personally, after the CKA I was going to go straight for the CISSP because I have done some infosec projects at work and the CCNA, Net+ and AWS Solutions Architect Associate covered a good bit of security as well. However, the security+ after the net+ is not a bad way to go. I have seen a lot of people go that route as well.

I'm in my mid-20s and I've been uncertain about my career direction. This led me to stop attending college, and I've since held positions in boring entry-level roles. I still don't know what precise sector of IT I want to pursue, but I'm currently studying for the CCNA as a baseline cert to expand upon. From there I want to explore various other branches to uncover my interests. Thank you for your advice. Your shared experiences give me inspiration for my future pursuits in IT. If you have any suggestions for what additional certifications/subjects I should explore after obtaining my CCNA, please let me know.

First off, I love that you’re getting the CCNA so great job there. As for which path you want to go down, I would look at which things catch your attention in the tech world. If you like building VMs and having a product to show, you might like cloud. If you like finding loopholes and “breaking” things, you might like security, etc. Don’t stress yourself out over picking the “right path”, just keep learning and see what peaks your interest, I also want to note that you likely won’t know it at first and it likely won’t be a love at first sight kind of thing. As a general rule, I think it’s worth throwing at least 10 hours into learning something before ruling it out. I know this probably wasn’t the most direct answer but I hope it helps :).

@@ZeroDegreeTech I appreciate your input, thank you. I'll definitely continue learning with an open mind and see where it takes me.

Do you think the knowledge you gained from studying for your CCNA helped you with the cloud project you did? i keep seeing people say its overkill, but I also come from a degree-less background and think that it looks good on a resume, but also helps fill in knowledge gaps!
@ZeroDegreeTech9 ай бұрын
I definitely think the CCNA helped when learning cloud, while not required, it provided me with a great networking background which made learning networking services offered by the public cloud providers much easier to learn.

Do you have any advice for someone trying to get entry level cloud role such as jr cloud support,jr cloud engineer etc. I have az900 and studing az104.

Keep studying and post lots of projects! Also don’t hesitate to apply to a job because you don’t meet the qualifications that they “need”.

At what point were you learning Terraform? Pre, during, or post AWS SA? I’m wondering how early I should start.
@ZeroDegreeTech10 ай бұрын
I started learning terraform about halfway through my SAA studies, I HIGHLY recommend using the AWS Cloud9 IDE because it takes care of a lot of the permissions issues you can run into.
@Grisle2610 ай бұрын
Appreciate that. I was wondering if a provider agnostic approach was more important, but it's probably really important to get comfortable with CloudFormation and/or CDK first.@@ZeroDegreeTech
