Lol. This is so accurate. Years ago I waited 2.5 years for a sister to give me an answer, in the end she said no. Last year May I asked another sister out and by August I told her that if by December she's yet to give me an answer, I'd move on. She told me she was praying, and that she wanted God to expressly speak, and how she wanted to ascend into some realms, abi God told her to wait and is yet to tell her to move on. Well, before December, she started withdrawing and I also started withdrawing because I felt she was no longer interested. Called her to ask her that if she no longer wants to pray, she should tell me and not be afraid. She went on telling me how she wants to be sure it is God and that even if she tells me know, she wants us to still be friends. By October, I took my mind off her, but a brother asked me to give her more time. The long and short is I moved on. Only to later hear from a friend that this sister had been considering another brother all along and had even taken him to her mentors, while she kept telling she wanted to see God, etc. I don't even feel bad that she liked another brother. I feel bad only because she wasted my time. It is also sad that modern-day Christianity has redefined spirituality to mean this mushy, sentimental approach where people depend more on experience but have no good morals to show. I'm sorry about your experience. Truly. But I'll encourage you to be sure about what God is saying before you approach a sister so you don't get your hopes up repeatedly. Such experiences are capable of making a person cynical with time, and maybe even despise God in a sense. Please don't allow your experiences affect your relationship with God. I pray the Lord heals your heart and leads you to the woman for you. In the meantime, be occupied, and keep your eyes on Him.

Yes it has been hurtful, the experiences I've had. You know hearing God has been made a very big issue in the church today. It has been mystified. I've been tempted to quit trying to seek God's face about a sister before approaching them, have said to myself that once a sister knows God and is living like a Christian, I'll go ahead. But I've been severally rebuked by the Lord. This relationship issue is not for the faint hearted. Carnality has made the once sweet relationship and marriage thing very bitter now. God is not an author of confusion! I went through a similar situation with a brother on my church who was inconsistent for years, always blowing hot and cold. When I got engaged, he suddenly proposed in front of everyone, but I made it clear I was already committed. In the end, I realized I'm happier with my fiancé, and such disappointments might be a sign of a better match, God sent me the love of my life. He definitely dodged a bullet! 😂
