@@KarateDuckFull yep, “for a while” is correct. “A while” means “a long period”, but “Awhile” should modify/follow a verb, e.g. “If I have to wait, I’ll read awhile.” “Awhile” is much more rare in usage and generally should not come after the word “for.” …Because the word “awhile” essentially means the whole phrase “for a while” - and historically it actually meant “for just a moment.” (Just realized you gave perfect examples of this) But also words are always changing and if things that barely have any difference become used interchangeably in common parlance, they’re really not “wrong” anymore. But an English teacher or maybe even a word processor’s grammar check might fix “for awhile” to “for a while”.

Having been born in Soviet and raised in post-Soviet Ukraine, I was bewildered by the idea of a laundromat first time I saw one in an American movie or TV show. Could've been Rocko's Modern Life, actually. This bewilderment never left and probably never will. It's like... What's the..? W-why? My family was dirt poor when I was little, but even then we had a washing machine. Going outside and typically staying outside for over an hour (as I understand) just to do your laundry sounds so inefficient, bordering on idiotic in the 21 century.

Well, the Soviet Union was full of laundromats. In post-soviet Russia, Belarus and Ukraine laundromats, chemical washing services and dryers were quite popular in some places well into the 00s too. In US it generally was always aiming at three main categories of people: 1. Absolutely poor people in big towns with not enough space or money to afford a washing machine. (Students, projects, borderline homeless people, trailer parkers). 2. People who change living spaces a lot or no have control over theirs. (Out-of town people, short-term renters, motel inhabitants, dorm students). 3. Absolutely non-prepared to solitary life people that just don't know how or can't be bothered to install a washing machine. (Students again, drug addicts, divorced alcoholics, sheltered youth that just left a household where they weren't taught doing chores). If you are a first-generation New Yorker in an ordinary job, first couple of years you can't afford a washing machine most of the time. They are pretty expensive in the US, you probably won't have any space to put it (a typical apartment is a studio of 20-27 sqm), plus you legally can't install it yourself in most cases so have to pay 1500-2000$ extra. In some other big cities it's the same. So it often is inconvenient but basically the only choice.

@@n0nchalanc3 not all. For example, in NYC a lot of apartment buildings were built in 1800s or 1900s, and are deemed "cultural heritage". Most of those don't have modern plumbing, and doing any even minor modification without approval and specialist involvement is illegal.

I think in the debate of which dome is better, it depends on how you play. I think the beam is a lot simpler and more consistent, but the sword as a higher potential. Sword dome is definitely more fun to play, just a bit more difficult. That said, I'm a beam boy at heart. Beam dome + Wither Repellant has been my go-to for beating all the sizes & difficulties.

Not trying to back seat, just a few tips that could help you out. 1. Triangles tend to spawn around the edges of the map/the bedrock & normally always 1 triangle node in the top right & left corners. 2. Try prioritising your carrying capacity a little more if you're using your character for resources, this will help you out way more than you think. 3. Don't go so deep if you don't have the drill, generally it's 1 drill upgrade for every section to make the most efficient timing. Keep on with the psycho mining though ;)

The dishwasher is simply not OP, what sort of washer needs you to actually WASH the thing before you wash it in the washer? They are perfectly balanced with all the other trash-tier kitchen appliances, like the electric can opener, popcorn maker and knife block. Imo the resource collection speed doesn't matter that much since you need to really stock it super full to utilize it without the lift just sitting empty for the most part. Thoughts on blast mining: it’s clearing what…a rough 5x5 area initially with a timer? Considering you have drag the bomb around and deposit it, how efficient is is compared to direct mining? Seems like the bombs potential gets wasted if you don’t place it in a 3x1 shaft maximizing square destruction. However, the shaft already revealed 7 squares for cutting three and you can reveal the remaining area with six cuts, two in each wall. How does that compare to the scanner which covers the same area and more and is slightly quicker?

Difference being I understand why I don’t like him instead of just saying, “He’s ass.” My thing is that there is a lot of babysitting to do with him. 2nd run you left a lot of easily mined ground near the top unmined or in blocks too large to tell there wasn't resources inside it. Was there Cobalt there? Perhaps! Could also also held on longer by buying shield overcharge and using all the water you kept finding, shredding the gadget, or collecting that iron for laser damage upgrade (faster kills = less damage taken)

I’m fluent in NLese, so I’ll translate what Federico is saying for you. Back seating and game advice have killed otherwise great games in the past, and we don’t want to see that happen here. We all watch NL precisely because of the quirks and inefficiencies. If he improves on his own, that’s pure pog. If not, the frustration is addicting. NL is a great showman, so just enjoy the show, man.

Sword dome is actually excellent. Electrified sword tier with 2nd tier ball and chain, every flying enemy is one shot and penetrable, and not one ground enemy is capable of attacking you. With shield, you can avoid all damage for extremely difficult waves *if you purchase the third perk tree to reflect projectiles as an active ability. Sword pad reflection + projectile reflection speed good for budget aerial defense if you are repellant pilled, good bang for buck
