It was a mini tornado...nowhere to take cover!

Today we capture on our iPhone from last night an intense mini tornado! It just came out of nowhere and it was on us! We don't know where to take shelter, stay in the parking lot or get on the road and get home! But before we show you that, we start the day showing you what Brinley and Kapri are doing, then another storm hits our house! We wait until the lightning is done and we go swim in the storm! So fun! But really hard wind and rain! Then I run out to the mall with Evie and gets caught in a different storm! We close out the video telling you all about what we plan to be for Halloween and what shows we are watching on Netflix! Kapri wants to be Coraline and Seb, we want him to be Sweet Tooth! We don't know what for the rest of us. Such a crazy day!

It’s probably weird but I love watching storms and driving in the rain on roads with very little traffic (rural areas) or parking and sitting during a downpour. Love lightning and heavy rain but hate thunder at night. During the day it’s not bad. I think watching storms can be peaceful & relaxing. We rarely get good rainstorms so that’s probably why I enjoy them.

No it's not weird. The best storms to sit and watch are in beach towns and in the country (basically anywhere you can see it off in the distance). I know people who open there garage doors and sit in there garage and watch storms move in from a distance.

The reason the sky turns blue is because the transformers are either being struck from direct lighting or being affect by one that has been struck causing them to basically blow up and that's when you see like a blue flash and then a widespread outage. That happend once right next to our house when we were at the beach. When it happens it is super loud and a really bright blue flash.

Hi I am from Milwaukee Wisconsin. Have been watching you guys whenever I can. I am a TRAINED National Weather Service storm chaser, here in Wisconsin- obviously. What you guys witnessed was called a POWER FLASH. This is a indicator that power is going out. Either by lightning, or strong/damaging t-storm winds.

The blue flash you see are most likely a transformer blowing. We get severe thunderstorms here all the time with wind and rain. You should look into taking a weather class to learn more about hazards and what to do. They are very informative.

I just started watching your channel again I haven't been for the longest time and now I'm mostlikely going to be almost binge watching them - tonight anyway - as I LOVE the storm vlogs you guys make especially since I'm a lover of story weather, the more dramatic the storm the better I like them. I'm not even scared of thunder or lightning.... we dont get tornados in my area of New Zealand where I live. So there’s a reason why the sky does turn blue. So in the day the sun has little particles that turn it that color like violet, blue stuff like that. And our eyes are more sensitive to blue, so The strongest storms happen usually in the late afternoon when the sun is descending towards the horizon but at night there is a increase in the amount of particles causing it to turn Blue/Purple Hope this helped

If your experiencing a severe weather warning, take that as a tornado warning, rush your pets and parents or kids inside a basement or a bathroom with no windows or closet, pack your things that are valuable to you. Also pack shoes, a helmet, and a weather radio. If you are in a tornado warning don’t panic, get to a safe room I listed. And be safe! If your our in the streets, find a ditch and hold your hands over you head and crouch down. If there is no ditch, go to a car and ask if you could stay while the tornado is here, do the same thing I will list after I say if you are in a car, if your in a car and there is no ditch put your seatbelts on and make sure the engine is running, pull over and duck and put your hands over you head! Stay away from the windows as much as you can. Ask any questions in the reply and I will answer.
