After leaving Seoraksan, I cycled on small village road. Around sunset, I set up my tent at lake, but I was too scared to sleep. Sometimes I have too much fear to sleep well.

It's good to see the Korean countryside. I rode from Seoul to Daegu in 2008 via the Han river bike path and country roads. It was a lot of fun. Hope to come back and do Jeju and the east coast bike path. Your videos give me inspiration.

한국에 왔으니 4대강 국토종주 와 동해안 자전거길, 제주도 환상 도로 여행도 해보세요. 모두 자전거 길이 있는 곳입니다. 외국에 자전거 여행할 때 혼자 다니면 위험할 곳 많으니 스텔스 텐트라고 숨어서 캠핑을 하는 경우도 있다고 들었습니다. 거기에 비하면 한국은 비교적 안전한 편이지요. 그래도 늘 조심하고 경계해야하지요.

국내 노지에서 야영하실 때 들개 멧돼지 정도가 야생동물 중에 위협적이지만 마주치기 쉽진 않지요. 되도록 음식냄새 안 나게 밀봉해서 다니시는 게 좋고요. 고라니 같은 애들은 사람 비명 소리 같은 걸 내서 무섭기는 한데 해를 끼치진 않아요. 그 외에 고양이 같은 애들이 소리내면 괜히 무섭기도 하지요. 야영하시는 곳이 아주 외딴 곳이 아니니까 사람이 가장 두려울 수는 있겠네요. 되도록이면 다른 캠퍼들이 있는 곳을 이용하시는 게 좋겠어요. 잘 주무셔야 여행을 잘 하겠지요..

I have permanent and mostly irrational fear inside me, do not feel safe even at home. I use earplugs or one earplug depending of the noise disturbing me, only so I can sleep. And if I stay at new place, I always sleep bad even with earplugs, because of too much stress. Life in fear is shit and torture.

I'm sorry to hear your story. That sounds very tough. I also have much fear randomly. I learn that every traveler has different tolerance at fear. I wished I don't feel fear much like some other travelers. But now I am just accepting as who I am. The most important is we keep doing what we like without giving up! Cheers mate!
