"It was good while it lasted" - 505 Sailing at the Hampton Annual One Design Regatta

Back in May 2019 I drove up to Hampton Yacht Club to try out a new boat. That would be my first time ever sailing on a 505. It was also my first time on any high-performance boat, and as a result I also got a few "swim tests" while there (18 knots of wind contributed to this). It was a lot of fun and brought me into the 505 class - making the Hampton Yacht Club a special place to me.
Now, it's been a little more than four years and I'm now the owner of my own 505. I went back to Hampton, VA for the HYC Annual One Design Regatta and was joined by a handful of the regional 505 sailors and some sailors who, like me four years ago, have come out to Hampton to get their first experience in a 505.
Sailing in the Southeastern USA during the summer can be a challenge. The best (often only) breeze is often followed closely by thunderstorms. We had to deal with that this weekend, but were able to get two good races in before an approaching storm cell sent us on the fast reach back in - followed by an unplanned maneuver in the river...
At least I still remember how to swim.

What number actually is your boat because I see it with a lot of different sails or maybe that’s just me

Haha I do use a lot of random sail numbers. I'm lazy and don't change the numbers. I actually haven't ever used the right one! It's 7095.
