We stopped working. Some players are simply weak minded or not good enough - that is for the manager to decide. Liverpool worked harder than we did. They won most second balls. Wasn't fantastic, it was a real bad game for us, this is the worst ever defeat we have suffered in the Premier League since it's formation, and of course it's the most brutalist game we've had against Liverpool. Everyone got it wrong today, everyone has to take accountability including Ten Hag (which I'm pretty sure he does) as well as the coaching staff. Considering how much Liverpool has been under this season, a lot of people we're under the impression that we could go into Anfield to get a result in the same fashion as Real Madrid, when clearly Real are on a much higher level compared to where United are right now in terms of depth, despite United beating Barca over a week ago in the Europa knockout stages. I think there has to be some realism now where we are not in a Premiership title race properly, despite our position in the table. Still 3rd, still above Spurs and Liverpool who are now wanting to get into Top 4, and for them, they are now getting themselves together after a hellish run they have had so far this season with the losses they had at Brighton etc. Not going to give too much stick to the squad because they have been on top form for a period of time, already got a trophy in our hands this season last weekend, and this being our second loss since coming back from the World Cup away from home (Arsenal and now Liverpool). I think this is now a challenge where the squad now need to get themselves together, dust themselves off and get the winning mentality strong again, by coming off a strong loss like tonight and pushing themselves back to the standards that have been set out. Sadly we have to accept this 7-0 loss, we can't escape from it but the squad has to learn from it and to do better. The question is, who in that squad is willing to learn?

We dominated the majority of the first half, united has some good chances, but having good chances doesn’t necessarily make you the better side. I think united we lucky we didn’t score in that early period. However i will say this, sometimes your formation and pattern of play, plays into the hands of the opposition, and sometimes everything clicks for the opposition and you end up getting Opened up, and i think thats what happened today. Coupled with the fact that we are now starting to get everyone back and new players understanding their roles and giving 100% for eachother. 7-0 to your biggest rivals is a HEAVY defeat. We can see now why Rangnick said that we probably needed 10 new players. Some of these players simply don't have the mentality to be world class. It has been 3-4 years of shit show from these players. They are all probably top class players, but that's the limit. You can win an EFL cup or even a Europa League with these players, but not the EPL or dare I say to dominate world's football like we once did. This requires players with consistent winning mentality who will not drop their heads when losing to big rivals, regardless of fatigues. Get some of these players out in the summer, bring some new players in (players with world class mentality and not just skills).

It was only a few days ago after the win in the final that Ten Hag was being highlighted as having great in game management and just being able to change it. Something went very wrong here. Thing is, before this game Man U had +13 goals. I was surprised it wasn't more and them being 3rd. Now it's much less goals. I'm sure Man U will put that one right. For example, playing Bruno on the left, Weghorst as number 10 and Rashford up front for way too long (instead of playing Rashford against Trent, who is probably Liverpool's defense weakest link). Or bringing on McTominay at 3-0, which was essentially making this from a terrible loss to a complete massacre. But tbh, it's more on the players, who gave up on each other at 3-0. They became petulant, dropping their heads, lost their discipline. And this is a persistent pattern in the past 3-4 years. This has cost us points (not to mention goal difference) and will continue to do so unless we get some of these players out and bring new ones in. In the summer, there needs to be a complete overhaul, a transfer window with clear plans. Ten Hag needs to be given players that he wants. Then and only then we can probably start talking about winning the league or UCL.
