Definitely a much larger percentage of player salaries should be tied to bonuses. You need to get rid of situations where players can take a huge wage and then stop performing. Ozil, Willian come to mind.
@jaysmith28583 жыл бұрын
Players want to have their cake and be able eat it. If they want the gargantuan wages they are paid, they should have to earn them like the vast majority of others have to, many of whom earn less in a lifetime than many footballers earn in a few weeks, if not sooner.

At 8:00 he talks about the limits of revenue moving forward. 8:30 is the part where he mentioned football games watched by the younger generation they will not sit infront of a tv for 90 mins, and they watch in flashes. This ultimately impacts revenue moving forward and as he earlier made his point, something needs to be done about the ballooning wages. It's not sustainable.

Despite his age, his thoughts about the game are so modern. It's a hundred percent true what he's saying about how audiences are wanting to consume content, in bite sized form (for example the rise of Vine and TikTok) and football is not immune to that. The game needs to be made faster, with fewer stoppages, and some of the complexities like multi legged ties, away goals rules, need to go.

I'm absolutely with Arsené in regards to a Wage cap for Players. The £150,000 a Week is just beyond ridiculous nevermind the £500k plus that Messi, Alexis and many others have earned and still are earning. 40% of that can be much better suited to other footballing areas, more than a 12 Million dollar mansion, car or boat.

Guys dont shoot with this statement. There was somewhere where Wenger was trying to draw or paint a picture of two managers. 1 with many trophies and he referred this to short glory or quick success and trust me it is nice because he had it too and then the other picture is the value of positive change you bring to a certain field or environment. He ended up going with the last image and i know many would say it was easy for him because many arsenal fans and some other fans consider him a failure and the arsenal problem at the time he left the club. This all thing of winning at any cost that was preached by people like Mou and practised silently by Fergie at Manu is not right for football because it creates monsters in the game in the long run and look where we are now.

Brexit will have little to no effect on the PL, and it may actually help young British players and domestic national sides. All Brexit will do is make it a bit harder for big clubs to get in young/unproven talent from abroad, though there are ways around the rules via things such as having 'feeder clubs'. Man City already have such things in place.
