Soft goods are fine in most cases. Stuff like the Akatsuki robe can really only ever be done in soft goods. No plastic will ever bend around more plastic in any way close to acceptable. Stuff like the One Piece character cloaks need to be soft goods as dynamic posing is the whole point of them and being made of heavy hard plastic just ruins the figures. It also works well for Figures who don’t always wear their cloaks such as Itachi or Naruto. I buy these things to move them and if they don’t move it doesn’t matter how good they look because at that point a statue is better. The plastic aesthetic obviously looks better but so does the hot toys rubber skin instead of plastic. Doesn’t mean its good though. I like what works and this works, plus its not like it’s ugly or anything and being able to get super dynamic poses alongside the ability to remove it for both outfits is just better. Action figures are always wearing clothes. They just don’t come off. Remind you Ken is naked under those. You don’t dress up these figures. The cloak is an accessory not clothing. You don’t see Narutos polka dot underwear without them. He also has significantly more articulation. Hence the “Action” part in its name. Action figures are highly articulate fully clothed figures. Dolls are the opposite. Only similarity is they are made of plastic.

Cmon man now you’re stretching for anti goods ( gotta see the joint ) just go easy on it and I do agree the cloak could’ve been a little higher quality this one and the new sage mode Naruto soft good don’t look any better than the third party ones lol

Personally I don't mind putting together figures with soft goods as long as they look cool + it also helps with articulation so that's a win for me. Also what i consider dolls are figures that has similar aesthetics to Barbie i guess haha

I don't mind soft goods assuming it is done right, this one is ok bu the new Naruto is kinda eh. That said I will always favor sculpted plastic/rubber cloaks robes and capes especially since they are anime figures and the sculpts just carry that aesthetic a lot more. I'll live with it but as is right now they clash so hard especially Minato and Sage Naruto who have the same design of cloak robe in different colors, and having two looks isn't an excuse for soft goods when the original Sage Naruto had extra sleeveless arms to pose it without the robe. Obito showed it can be done right and he's pretty much wearing the same cloak style as an Akatsuki cloak just without a zipper and closed collar, modifying the sculpt to remove the belt and adding the zipper/open collar would have made a good sculpted and articulated Akatsuki cloak.

The only time itachi uses a sword is when he was in the ambu black ops So yea grown ass itachi looks goofy with a sword
