i see a lot of people downplaying shisui cause he “lost” badly against a weaker danzo, but that’s in anime filler. the canon story in itachi’s light novel is that shisui was poisoned with bugs by the anbu from the aburame clan, paralyzing him (it is literally stated that he can’t move his legs), which gave danzo enough time to take one of his eyes and even explain to shisui how he paralyzed him. but then shisui still managed to escape with one eye, after being caught off guard, paralyzed and, consequently, fatigued from struggling to move his body for his life, with danzo and a bunch of anbu members chasing him. the fact that he managed to escape in those conditions to later give his remaining eye to itachi is quite impressive if you think about it.
