Greetings, 👋 I have the same 1/72 scale Apache Longbow helicopter model kit store up in my closet and I have 4 modeling projects that I’m doing right now at the moment. I wanted to start building this pretty soon sometime around September/ October when I get to it.

I built the revell one in 1/100 scale a month ago or so, this italeri one looks bettter detailed! Love the videos!

Glad you like it!

My experience from the late 80s and early-mid 90s is that Italeri's kits were the most detailed (we're talking sets originally dating from 70s/80s here), Airfix, Heller, Hasegawa, Matchbox and Revell came off as more toy-like, at least in 1/72 - Revell and Matchbox had incredibly detailed kits in larger scales (1:24/1:32) though

Got this in the stash. Yes, not a bad kit at all, Italeri are known for making decent heli kits. The one to go for though in this scale is the Academy one. I've got one just recently and it is a lovely kit but it cost more than the Italeri one.

Model Minutes, I know the US never installed the 'missiles' onto the end of the 'wing stores'. That is a Norway thing. I worked on the actual physical Apache 'A' model for one year and then the 'D' model for nine years and the US never had those sidewinders installed. The external wing-mounted fuel tanks (not included in this kit) is for the Alpha model. The 'D' model reduced the amount of 30mm in the magazine and took that free space to install a 'robby tank' for more fuel instead of using the external 'torpedo'-shaped fuel tanks. The FCR on top of the main rotor mast does not rotate with the main rotor blades. It can rotate from side to side and the inside bit pans up and down, but no one ever sees that bit because of the cover.

Thanks for all that great info!

As expected, a good review. Are there any other color schemes/camouflage for the Apache? In my opinion, a shelf with a lot of overall olive drab models tends to be dull lacking "spark".
@ModelMinutes3 жыл бұрын
Apparently there are some camouflage schemes for it in service with some other nations, but on the whole it doesn't seem to be a machine which had that many

👍looks nice. I had the italeri 1/72 Kiowa and it was a decent kit.

Which version? Always the British one. Always. Looks like a nice kit - hope it builds as good as it looks. And I just built a Revell Apache in 1/144 and it was horrible. Great vid thanks for sharing.

Hello can anyone advise me what's best to use for weight in the nose for nose wheeled aircraft thanks in advance
@ModelMinutes4 жыл бұрын
I usually use sticky-tack and can throw in some spare bits of metal (screws etc) but you can get specific products for this task (think ball bearings/BB's) which can be glued into place - a quick google should bring up a number of products (I think one is called "liquid weight" or something)

Nice review. Please build it soon, preferrably the dutch version...why ? just because one can. It's quite odd that they state "US version", when Dutch and British versions also are included.

Surprise! This is an Esci kit.... If you ask me, Esci was trend seter back in the day, as well as Matchbox in Europe..... They were the only companiesin Europe that could compete with Japanese Tamiya and Hasegawa in quality of tooling.... Italeri bougt Esci in 90es and you can find Alot of their kits in Italeri boxes!
@ModelMinutes4 жыл бұрын
Ah, that would explain a lot
@TheNorwegian3 жыл бұрын
Matchbox? Quality? Maybe their later stuff, but their 1/72 scale stuff came off as very simple and toy-like in my opinion
@chancerNW4 жыл бұрын
Good unboxing I thing the licensing sticker might be because a while back certain helicopter kits were being illegally copied by a Chinese firm. I must admit I don't muchlike kits in any thing other then light grey, light blue or white plastic as I find darker plastic harder to see clearly and work with as it affects depth perception. But the main thing is the actual quality and detail if thats OK then fine.
@ModelMinutes4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I don't really like different colour plastic as it can make the model more difficult to paint
@jimmynuketown56484 жыл бұрын
I used to use humbrol paint not but now I use italeri paint
@ModelMinutes4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, humbrol is ok but it's not the best
@johnnoble014 жыл бұрын
The new paint in the dropper bottles is excellent but I've always found Humberol products to be excellent even the older ones.
