Ho avuto l'onore di stringere la mano al Comandante Alfa e fare una foto con lui in occasione della presentazione di un suo libro che ovviamente ho acquistato con tanto di dedica e autografo,sul mio come su quello di tutti i presenti. Ascoltare le storie di una vita vissuta facendo un mestiere altamente rischioso ma fatto con passione è stato fantastico. Onore al Comandante e al GIS

@@booshish7143 Il libro è "Io vivo nell'ombra", comunque ne ha scritti tre: Cuore di rondine, Io vivo nell'ombra:La vita, l'addestramento ,le missioni ad alto rischio di un fondatore del GIS e Missioni segrete. Il Comandante racconta tutta la sua vita dall'ingresso nell'Arma passando per il Tuscania fino al GIS. Racconta non solo gli aspetti prettamente militari ma anche il lato umano di marito e padre. Sono libri scritti in modo semplice e avvincente che una volta che li cominci non riesci più a smettere di leggerli e anzi quando arrivi arriva fine ti di dispiace di averli finiti. Te li consiglio vivamente

Proud of our italian special forces. They may not be as famous as others nations because they don't have a lot of marketing and video footage and also our governements don't invest as money as other does in security and army forces, but our special forces are top noch. They have to deal with verry difficult situations as italian territory is very different.

@Legio XXI Rapax Depends how you define modern special forces. Because I'd argue they're alot closer to the shinobi masters of infiltration and guerrilla tactics then they are to the Arditi more of a shock trooper style outfit. I mean today we're talking things like special reconnaissance,assassination,hostage rescue, counter terrorism,covert ops,unconventional warfare, etc things the Shinobi specialized in before any one knew about about it. If we're talking an elite division of a military there's always been Division comprised of the best men to shatter a hard point in enemy lines or complete advance maneuvers requiring skilled men it goes back starting from companion calvary under Alexander the great.

@Legio XXI Rapax Having read various military history articles on Japan also in colledge I must counter and state you don't know what you're talking about. For example the Hojo clan used their shinobi not ninja that's a Hollywood phrase, to infact infiltrate and launch an attack at night on the Takeda camp which caused mass confusion among the Samurai there causing to them fight among themselves. This is no isolated incident as often they would be used to harras an enemy foe before the battle even starts. It is also alleged they were behind the assassination of one Usegi Kenshin mostly because his death was much to convenient for Oda Nobunaga with sources proclaiming that infact he hired a shinobi to assassinate Kenshin neutralizing a cunning foe though it's debated back and forth if it really happens. However the sheer historical records would cite the use Shinobi to do a task in the first clearly means it wasn't beyond comprehension at the time to infact hire one to commit an assassination. I'm in no way stating their that Hollywood bull shit. If anything they were alot more similar to the Nizari Ismalis or Assassins the original assassins from the middle east. You're not gonna see crazy martial artist but rather guys who take time to plan and practice commiting essentially murder against a selected targeted. Infact the only reason I wouldn't argue the Assassins as an elite unit was cause it was really a military cult of sorts hence why I chose the shinobi who did the samething but in Japan. And once again elite military units go as far back as the sacred band in ancient Greece.
