This was such a special treat to see Nonno in his element doing something that he was taught by his elders so many years ago. Something very beautiful about the process of making wine in the old fashioned diy way. Thanks so much for sharing this and all of the wonderful, fascinating content your channel puts out. I can't get enough of Nonno, Nonna and their beautiful family ❤ Im so grateful to all of the amazing Italian Canadians who chose to call this part of the world home. The amount of culture they brought here is incredible.

I’m not Italian and my family came to the US several generations ago, but I was fortunate to grow up in a small town with many Italian families. Some of my friends had grandparents who spoke only Italian. I’ve always wished I was first generation, because the Italian family ties are so strong. You are so lucky to have your Italian grandparents, who share their rich culture with you, but you already know that… Thank you for sharing them with all of us. My Nonno and Nonna on both sides immigrated to Toronto in the 50s as well. My parents along with them. What a beautiful video. My dad used to make wine with my Nonno and I’ll never forget the smell! If the wine was not the best, my Nonno would put some ginger ale in it to cut the acid and let us try. At 34 I still do this if I don’t like a particular wine 😂Keep making these beautiful memories with them, you’ll never forget 🥹

God this reminds me of my Nonno so much. We drank his last batch of wine several years ago now. He was born and raised in Mazara Del Vallo, in Sicily. He had a fig tree, a nespole tree (loquat), mandarini (tangerines), and he grew his fresh tomatoes every year, He watched Italian shows on sattelite RAI UNO, and god protect you if you fucked with his TV while RAI was on.... LOL. He was the hardest worker I've ever known and did so much to make sure his family thrived in this life, through some very tough times. Much love and god bless, thanks for sharing.

What a nice video and so informative!! My friend drank a lot of wine one night in Rome and had no headache the next day. She attributed it to NO Sulfites in the Roman wine which is produced for local consumption, just like Nonno's.🥰

Thank you for sharing this beautiful wine making process. These are some of the beautiful traditions that ensured good healthy community living. That's why fewer medications were required in those days. Keep it alive and enjoy the goodness of life.
