@@mauronicolo89 If you want to hear him singing for real you can for example try listening to him singing Eino Leino's poems Elegia (Elegy): kzbin.info/www/bejne/sHTGZIeMjq-shZI or Laping Kesä (The Summer of Lapland): kzbin.info/www/bejne/imOofoZ4nJecnMU . Besides for the billiard and football he also played for example handball and water polo and he also boxed. And here's an example of his physics when he played himself playing a soldier being shot at: kzbin.info/www/bejne/b6HNZp5nrt1-osU . This was in a Vääpeli Körmy movie. No English subtitles there, but after the first take the director tells him that it maybe the take was a bit too short, and after the second take Loiri complains the boat being tied to the dock so he was unable to row to die in the middle of the lake for a more dramatic death.

After reading these comments, I just remembered that he had a pretty successful singing career as well. 😆 Many people knpw him for the songs Lapin kesä, Hyvää pu.uta and Elegia.

Englanti Vesku, or Vesa-Matti Loiri, was a musician, singer, actor and, in addition to that, he also enjoyed sports such as boxing, football, billiards. This was one of the multi-talents of Finnish entertainment. In 2022. rest in peace Vesa-Matti Loiri...

The actor of Uuno was not only good at pool but also played one season of football in HJK as a goalie. His talents seemed endless.

Härski Hartikainen is Uuno's best frend. He was in the video "Pullamme, madam". Sitting on the table with Sörsselssön, another Uuno's friend.

Loiri did also comedic art of falling down, sort of stunts (without injuries) . He was a very athletic guy when he was young. He surely was a multitalented person. He is one of the most appriciated artists in Finland as a comedian and serious drama acting also because of his musical talents. His co-actor in movies, Simo Salminen won several golden trophies in swim- and clown jumping competitions both in Finland and other nordic countries. Simo Salminen was a baker (and a brilliant comedian and actor) but also a musician, sculptor and glass artist. Spede Pasanen brought this group together to make comedy. He was very competative and his iq was claimed to be super high. He was an eccentric person and an inventor also a clever businessman. A great comedian too (in a way) but he let his fellow actors shine instead of him since he actually wasn't fun at all.

There's a scene earlier in the movie that foreshadows the result of this match. Uuno has gone AWOL and his wife and mother-in-law are looking for him and mentioned having looked in all of his usual bar and pool hall hangouts. Uuno is a clever and sly person and a master at social engineering, so he knowingly pulled a classic pool hustle on the ensign!

'Pussi' means bag. You aren't the first foreigner to pick that. You can't find that many 'Mega Pussi' products from the stores nowadays. Vesa-Matti Loiri plays Uuno. He was multi-talanted, and competed in several sports before he took on acting seriously. Here's a trailer from his first movie 'Pojat' (The Boys): "Pojat (1962) | Traileri | Vesa-Matti Loiri, Mikko Niskanen". The actor who plays Uuno's father-in-law appeared also in that movie. Uuno appeared first time in 1971 on TV. First movie was released in 1973. From older Italian comedies Don Camillo comes to mind. Those movies were shown in Finland. Apparently there's even a restaurant called 'Isä Camillo' in Kuopio: "Restaurant Isä Camillo and patio summer 2019". Fantozzi doesn't ring a bell for me, but he looks like Raid's pal Sundman. Raid was a popular TV series. Also a movie was made as an epilogue to the series. Raid is the nickname of the main character-because he's that lethal. Also, Raid was the first Finnish TV series, which was shown in the US. The following scenes are from the movie. Here Raid gets Sundman from detox: "Raid moottorisaha blondi". Sundman: "Where did that blond with a chainsaw go? Raid: "She ran out of gas." And: "Raid - Sundman syö puuroa". Here Raid goes to get his car from the Fair Masa's car dealership: "Suomių filmas "Raidas" - Sparčiausia prekyba (su lietuviškais subtitrais)". Italian TV series are being shown on Finnish TV, and they are often popular. E.g. Don Matteo was. Recent series include Fosca, La Promesa, Imma Tataranni and Il Paradiso Delle Sinore. Of course food and travel shows taking place in Italy are common also.

the funniest thing is that the actor Uuno is playing against is actually a professional pool (billiards) player 😅 but Vesa-Matti Loiri who is the actor of Uuno Turhapuro was a pretty good pool player too in real life...

The actor Vesa-Matti Loiri was a multi-talented person and a huge celebrity in Finland. He died recently in 2022.

And it is indeed all real, even if the game itself was shot in parts if I remember correctly 😅 It is just a bit sad most of the translations in these Finnish comedy bits are pretty awful, but absolutely still better than none 2:04 Härski Hartikainen is his best friend in the movie series, a clever filosopher/swindler/inventor type who works as a car mechanic with Sörsselsön, Uuno's second best friend. They are almost always walking around in dirty car mechanic's overalls. A common theme with them and Uuno, is that they are trying to secure Uuno's inheritance from his father in law (who is always trying to get rid of Uuno) who Uuno has promised part of, since they helped him get married with her

This doesn't necessarily have anything to do with the movie itself, but have you seen Disney's Aladdin, the 1992 movie I mean? The two actors playing the billiards, Loiri (Uuno) and Rantanen (Vänrikki Napero), both played important roles in its Finnish dub. Loiri voiced The Genie and Rantanen voiced Jafar. 😁

The actor was most loved Finnish actor Mr Loiri. Very sporty, achievements: He was 14th best billiards player, 3-time water polo national champion, played soccer at national league and took some boxing matches too. After movies he focused into singing and became most loved emotional singer too. Every Finn knows him and loved him. These funny roles were just a part of his career.

Fantozzi subisce ancora is on Finnish Netflix now, but the movies don't seem to be very well known here. It's a pity, I think Finns would like the comedic style very much!

Of course there is a whole world of lore when it comes to these movies, but let me try to explain at least one small thing. "Härski Hartinainen" is this Uuno's best friend and often helps him in his troubles. Härski and his friend Sörsselssön (they both work as automobile technicians) have been promised a percentage of the possible future inheritage from the father-in-law of Uuuno, who is a wealthy industrialist. Härski played by Pertti "Spede" Pasanen, who is the mastermind behind these movies. The "härski" in Finnish means like dirty or perverted. It takes a Finn to really understand this type of comedy.

I'm pretty good when I have kept playing for even sometime but I seem to have spurts of it like few years and then just not play for a longer time and repeat. Then it takes awhile to get the feeling of angles back, I still have been quite good in every coordination game. Anyway once when I was younger and we played a lot and I had like friday weekend night-work but I was with school friends who were drinking before going. People were like you can go later you can go later and I knew my final bus to be on time was in 10min but was swayed by this one girl to have just one more match (I was thinking I will stop it and run for the bus if it looks like it, it was very unlike of me to even stay). Well it was my opening and it has never again happened but I put every ball at once inside, she didn't even get to shoot and was like wide eyed, mouth opened, saying how did you Do that 😂 I just kept my cool while being inside like what just happened while grapping my backpack and leaving for the bus with just smirking at her 😂 It was some planets aligning moment, truly crazy feeling since couple was hard places to shoot but I just ran thru the table 😄

7:06 As for singing, I know it is a Christmas song... But Vesa-Matti Loiri's cover _(in my opinion)_ is the most beautiful, sad and soulful. Maybe give it a try sometime? 😊 You should though try to pull up the lyrics in English nearby so you can follow the content. 🤔 (As a heads up, this song was originally a poem, and the writer had just lost his little son before coming up with the poem.)
