If only the amount of tiles in the desert was changing depending on your various techs, infrastructure and intel level. Egyptians believed that IDF can't cross desert in tanks, but due to good logistics they did. Gaddafi believed that chadians can't cross the desert with tanks because it was laid down with antitank mines, but they've just used light Toyota trucks. Saddam believed that americans can't cross desert with tanks because they would get lost, but US troops had GPS. So if you have many ports and supply hubs on max motorization, vehicles with enough reliability, divisions with certain supply grace/reserve, have full intel of the region and radar coverage(to simulate radio navigation), the desert tiles should open more and allow you to flank the opposing force 🤔
