People can chill out!! It’s your channel and you can do what you like! I can’t keep Italian val to save my life, it just doesn’t grow or thrive for me. I’ve never had any val throw runners, even with a nutrient-rich substrate and ferts. Better try again.

New subscriber here. Your health is important to loyal fans. I've listen to many tropical fish and plant videos where someone would go on and on about nothing to do with the topic. I like this video. I have Italian Val. You gave me info I needed. You shared a little about your personal life. Keep doing what your doing and I will pray for a healthier you.

Thanks for sharing. My short rant. I have been in & out of the hospital over 12 years for the same health problem . Every time i'm discharged i look at it as a victory.Nothing beats being outside breathing fresh air. You share what you want. Don't feel pressured to share anything. You seem like a grounded person and i wish you all the best. Try to stay positive!

Jacob, I just ordered a couple of plants from your website and while I was on there, I visited your "About Jacob" page and I was left in awe. Congratulations on all your successes and achievements! I hope you stay healthy and I hope that your channel and business keeps growing because you do deserve it. I was relieved when I learned that you were located in California as I am in the Central Valley for college right now haha so I can't wait to get my plants in my aquariums!

Lmao when you called it a baby and then sliced it in half I'm like 'baby killer' even though I know that's how you plant them 😂 I really like seeing aquariums with natural aquatic plants but it doesn't seem that common. It's awesome to see the same level of care and attention paid to all living things in your tanks. I actually took a course in university called plants in society and I don't even think we touched on any aquatic plants which sucks bc I think they're so interesting lol I'm up in Canada and the heat is back for us in Ontario too. I live next to a river and the humidity is unreal. We still in the 80s-90s some days.

I realise that this video was a year ago but I do hope you see this comment. This is YOUR channel, no one elses. Therefore, you talk about what YOU want to talk about be it plants, your health, or anything else! No one has the right to tell you that you cannot speak about your health, that is extremely unfair. I hope you are doing better. You have a great channel, I love watching your videos.

New sub! Great video on the Italian val! I have a question on mine, I keep it in pool filter sand with root tabs, liquid fertilizer, and high lighting. For some reason it is half it’s size now and isn’t growing fast. It has sent about two runners and I’ve had it for over a month. Am I doing something wrong? It doesn’t look as healthy as when I purchased it.

Crypts, Swords, Java (fern & moss) and one other (I can’t find the name of for the life of me) ... but Italian Vals just die on me every time. Can’t grow them in gravel(with fertilizer tablets) or a full soil tank. Wish we could buy your plants up here in Canada. Saddens me to hear that anyone would have medical bills.

Screw everyone who doesn't wanna hear you talk about your personal life. This is your channel, and youre a human being. If you decide you don't want to talk about personal stuff on here because of "professionalism" you could always have a side account that you "vlog" about upcoming videos, or breaks you might take, etc etc. then the people who are gunna be rude as fuck about that kinda stuff on your main account won't be watching. Hopefully. Some of them are probably trolls who will find something to bitch about lol glad your back.

Jacob, I can’t get my Italian Val to grow tall. It stays at 3” and doesn’t shoot off runners. It’s lush green though. I have it planted in a sand & soil mix with gravel. I use liquid carbon and a fertilizer. Pretty good light. Temp is 81. Water is hard. Any thoughts?

I have been growing Italian Val in c02 high light / sand substrate w/ root tabs for about a month now. I have plenty of runners, but the height of the Val seems to be maxing out at 8 inches or so. Do you know what that could be a sign of?
