Good morning ,, I use the 50 Alaskan brass to make the Italian Vetterli case ,, it doesn’t size all the way down so I have to turn the last little bit on the lathe or my Bridgeport , all being said it’s a better choice then 8mm lebel brass for reforming , its makes a stronger case . When it comes to using the 8mm lebel brass to form the Italian Vetterli case I Initially ran into a problem with some type of bulge forming in the case, I remedied that by filling the 8 mm lebel case with 4fg black powder 3/4 of the way up filling the remainder of the case with cornmeal then applying a lead bullet or a wooden dowel and crimping it, that seems to have solved the problem ,I get perfectly formed italian Vetterli cases using this formula , this is for fireforming the case , As far as a bullet , I use 42 Russian Berdan bullets .429 x360 gr. Pure lead . The charge I use is 22.5 grains of IMR 5744 powder ,,,, WARNING : this is what I use and I’m not advocating that anyone else tries this ,,,,and If they do “use it at your own risk “ !

TheKoba49 If I did not mention before the 8 mm Labelle brass case that I use I anneal the whole case all the way from front to back then I put the charger in and fire form , it works very well . Concerning the bullets .429 x 3 60 grain , I have a man that makes those for me I have been looking for the mold myself for quite a while but not to any success , They have three grease grooves and are round those bullets
