ZigAirMeet AirShow Swiss 2023 (Zigermeet Flugshow) - Day 3, Saturday - P-38L, Rafale, Tiger UHT, F16

For the first time, I saw the ZigAirMeet AirShow, formerly known as Zigermeet Flugshow, at Mollis Airport, 65 km southeast of Zurich. We are, therefore, in Switzerland, in the Glarnerland region, and the spectacle of the planes in the sky, which attracts 30,000 people, takes place in the splendid context of the Glarner Alps. The airport is home to Rega, the Swiss air rescue service. For two days, seeing dozens of displays on the ground and in the sky, the Swiss Air Force demonstrations with Super Puma/Cougar, F-18C Hornet and Patrouille Suisse become ideal. But also international aerobatic teams such as Flying Bulls Aerobatics Team, Team Niebergall, Voler avec les Oiseaux, and Blanix Team (Red Bull). On this Best-Of of the third and final day, Saturday, together with some friends, we climbed the mountain on the opposite side of the airport to have a different view from above of the AirShow. Per la prima volta sono venuto ad assistere allo spettacolo dello ZigAirMeet AirShow, precedentemente conosciuto come Zigermeet Flugshow, presso l'aeroporto di Mollis, situato a 65 km a sud-est di Zurigo. Ci troviamo dunque in Svizzera, nella regione di Glarnerland e lo spettacolo degli aerei in cielo, che richiama 30.000 persone, avviene nello splendido contesto delle Alpi Glarner. L'aeroporto è sede del Rega, il servizio di soccorso aereo svizzero e per due giorni si trasforma nel posto ideale per vedere decine di display a terra ed in cielo, dimostrazioni dell'Aeronautica Svizzera con Super Puma/Cougar, F-18C Hornet e Patrouille Suisse. Ma anche pattuglie acrobatiche internazionali quali Flying Bulls Aerobatics Team, Team Niebergall, Voler avec les Oiseaux, Blanix Team (Red Bull) e display di aerei ed elicotteri da combattimento. In questo Best-Of della terza ed ultima giornata, Sabato, assieme a degli amici siamo saliti sulla montagna che si trova dalla parte opposto dell'aeroporto per avere una visuale differente e dall'alto dell'AirShow. Nice vantage point for filming! It allows you to see the aircraft differently as well as the airport, town, and surrounding countryside. Aviation in the US is very expensive, in Europe it is about 4 times as much! Beech 18s are cool, I worked for a guy that has a few (as well as a DC-3 for a while). He sold all of this flyable ones, though.

I love the views from above; they are my favourite when filming rally races or hill climbs and getting so high to see the planes is magnificent, especially with the panorama of the town, the airport, and the beautiful mountains. I'm glad you liked these videos; working in the sector, you know planes well while I have to learn; I'm inexperienced even if I find this world fascinating.

It's not easy to follow the planes. It's much more complex than following the cars, but I must say that in the many years I've been filming, I know how to handle the video camera quite well, so years of training and experience help. But with planes, I have to improve and remain more stable. Cars run in a straight line, while planes fly everywhere and are unpredictable. It takes training. That walk partially destroyed my legs; very steep to go up and challenging to go down. But as you can see, the fabulous view was worth it 👍

@@tomaszjaowiec9554 Yes, indeed, I have the right equipment for my excursions in the mountains, but we hadn't planned to climb the mountain, and therefore I had nothing technical, and it took much more effort.
