As a Yankee fan, I’m probably one of the few in the fanbase who enjoys players who break “unwritten rules” on the field, so I’m excited to see how Chisholm does, with that being said I’m still worried he’ll get injured a good amount, but hopefully not.

Ya’ll kinda dumb. Listen to his baseball knowledge. No protection in the lineup. Willingness and ability to play any position. Put him on a team with two players with .430+ OBP he’ll close that gap. It's going to depend on a few things. For one, he's still young enough to have upside. If he improves at all, he will be really good. Another is it's going to depend on where he plays. Even with a small improvement, those numbers are pretty mediocre for an outfielder but at 2B, that's pretty solid. Not the best 2B in the league but one of the better ones.

What makes a player overrated is them not living up to the hype or player themselves making them look better than who they actually are. And for a guy who making his own designed cleats, gloves, and other accessories U think he would be a pretty good player but yet is a productive player at best thinking he’s a Aaron Judge or Shohei Ohtani with his own Homerun Celebration (Euro Step) and make the cover for MLB the show 23 yet not putting up the numbers no where near as those who actually earned it. So I feel Chisholm is slightly overrated and is only hated on for him wanting to bring some more fun to the game but not being able to do that without being hated on for him not putting up MVP numbers.

I think Jazz can bring some life into the Yankees clubhouse with his personality but that's just it. Offensively, he's really been league average or below in parts of 4 seasons, with the only season he had an OPS+ over 100 was his 2022 season in which he only played 60 games due to injury. He needs to prove he can be healthy through an entire season and replicate his 2022 pace over 145-160 games and he'll silence everyone who says he's overrated.

Nice essay. I grew up in the Reggie Jackson era, where he would stare at every home run he hit, did mild bat flips and start his home run trot only AFTER the ball landed in the seats. He was an arrogant SOB, but he was loved in New York. Why? Jackson produced, as we all know. So he was forgiven. Soto did the same thing, and Chisholm exhibits that swagger as well. What always matter to me is if you're going to showboat, you better produce. So far Jazz is doing fine.

Jazz is only popular because he was on the cover of the show. Hes NEVER been a good ball player. Can’t stay on the field. Can’t hit for average. Can’t hit for power. Terrible defender. All he can do is kinda run fast and steal some bases. He’s Eric young Jr with a bigger and less deserved ego. You know it’s bad when the freaking marlins club house doesn’t want you. Can’t wait for him to be in the KBO in 2 years. Lol

As a Yankee fan I'm thrilled to have young guys like Soto and Jazz on our team. They've injected us with the type of energy and athleticism that our usual acquisitions (players who won all their accolades 3 years before signing with us) don't offer.

Whose fault is that. Not his. The guy slipped rounding second and face planted into the Red Sox SS butt on Sunday night. Big time media darling. Great enthusiasm, but a klutz on the field. He’s like the guy in The Naked Gun whose head falls off trying to rob a home run.

What you and Jazz seem to fail to understand is that team rules are to be obeyed even if they are dumb. Why would all the the other guys who wear the freaking dress shoes on the plane should be fine with Jazz being the one flippant guy who doesn't? It's about being a team. There are more mature ways to address silly rules. Having said that, I love that he challenges the old boring way of things, but this shoe thing shows that he can go about the wrong way.

It sounds like he was wearing an approved style of shoe on the plane (Nike golf shoes) but because his team mates hated him, they snitched and said he was wearing "Nikes" as in Jordan basketball shoes. Could be wrong, I wasn't there but if so, that's just petty.

As a marlins fan I enjoyed his play but he has a a lot of diva in him from not hustling down to first base and costing himself a hit or getting on base because he thinks he’s going to get out then the filter bobbles the ball to not playing his position sometimes as hard as he should be costing the team out he is very clutch when it comes to bases loaded though, and he is fun. I hope the Yankees can, get him to focus a bit because if he’s totally locked in, he’s unstoppable

This is almost like a free agent signing. When the Yankees get real players like Juan Soto, they give up prospects who end up being busts. They must give the other teams a lot of cash on the side. I can't think of one prospect that the Yankees traded away that came back to haunt them.
