Marco with a brutal take lol. Italy played well. If Spain played the type of game Italy did today he would have praised Spain for their possession. Italy looked composed and calm with the ball. Albania never pressured the ball and Italy was happy to keep the ball. Why give the ball away cheaply when you don't need too? If Albania tried to get the ball back Italy would have pushed.

Marco chill. That first half was all Italy. The second half was typical Italy which shut down the opposition while leading. When has Italy “made a statement” in the first game in a tournament before? They make statements when they win. Today was a great first game!

@@RobizGaming2024 the only issue i have with yeaterdays game was there was no urgency in the second half. Our issue in the first half was finishing. We can’t kill off games, thats on the players. Other than that the game itself was very controlled and calm by Italy.

Playing asani was the correct and perfect choice. Seferi and ajeti and mitaj was the dumb choice. Shouldve been manaj from the start or uzuni and kumbulla and ismajli. Youre right about the deffensive aspect. They should've kept playing attacking football like usual. But using asani was a good choice, subbing him off was the dumb choice.

Nah dude Mitaj is one of our best players what are you talking about. Where would Manaj play? LW? He can’t dribble a cone. He’s a poacher striker. Hysaj needs to sit for Balliu Seferi for Muci and I would even leave Asani out for Arber Hoxha, we need pace and directness in the wings. Asani and Seferi lack both of those, but they do help out in defense.

He shouts over the other guys and Marco has to always calm him down. He’s a literal troll and often makes the pod seem amateur. His hatred of inter gets in the way of anything productive. The pod needs reps from all of inter, juve, Milan, Roma etc and a bit of friendly banter is great but Anto always takes it too far and is childish.

I gotta disagree with Marco. Italy’s midfield is better this year. 2/3 of the central mid is the same anyway. Verratti didn’t play much at the start and when he did he wasn’t good against Spain or England even though we won. Tbh other than the experience and poise of Chiellini and Bonucci this entire team is better than Euro 2021 imo. That team was over rated because they somehow won but wasn’t that great and hobbled over the finish line. This year’s squad is underrated. Not great odds at winning this year but they’re gonna put out a good performance.

Assisting the opponent from a freaking throw in... that's unbelievable and unacceptable. And that is not just Dimarco here, we play very decent football but we constantly have at least one of those mistakes in almost every game. We might not have a team full of stars like in the past, but they are all world class footballers and It's inconceivable how players of this level can make this kind of blunder so often. It's even more infuriating than our chronic inability to put the damn ball in the back of the net even with heaps of chances

When you have to play against 11 players sitting on the edge of the box you need to retain possession and move the ball around which is what Italy did in the 2nd half and what any good team would do but that has gone over your head. Italy killed the game happily holding onto the ball while Albania didnt press.

They pressed, they just didn't have the talent to press hard. Italy was afraid of attacking for fear of losing ball position and the fast break. Which did happen, but our keeper clipped the ball just enough to keep it out. Playing keep away is a tactical game plan, but a better, faster team won't let that happen. Like Spain. Imo.

Why so negative at the end ? Yeah the second half was worse but Albania did nothing at all other than the last chance and the goal that was an idiotic mistake from us. We had full control of the game, including possession which is something we never usually do. The first half was wonderful to watch it was just a shame we couldn’t capitalise on the many good chances. I feel quite positive after the performance, stuff to improve on but a solid team for sure. Also who cares about making a statement, as long as u win it’s a win. Italy has always historically won by a 1 goal margin it’s literally our dna.

I know we were trying to manage the game, but when you take someone like chiesa out, you need to place someone like Zaccagni in. You can’t replace him with Cambiaso. Cambiaso is not a player that will take his man on. Zaccagni is probably the only other player in the squad besides Chiesa that will just run at his man and beat him. I think Zaccagni and Chiesa is a like for like sub that needs to be utilized going forward!

That wtf moment when Dimarco threw the ball to Albanian player for goal. I was in shock like rest of world watching. Really hoped it ended 4-1 . Next round is going to be decider. a point / draw would be a good result considering. But Croatia should beat Albania leaving a crucial final round match.
