Thank you for this wonderful video. The San Lorenzo Complex is easy to miss, but an absolute must see. One of my favorite spots is the Basilica di Santa Croce which contains the tombs of many notable Italians from the Renaissance, including Michelangelo, Galileo and Machiavelli. The locking mechanism on the interior of the main doors is incredible. The adjacent gardens are lovely and a beautiful spot to escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. For the energetic, a stroll over to the Oltrarno and up to the Piazzale Michelangelo to watch the sunset with absolutely spectacular views of the entire city of Florence. NOTE to viewers: The "Old Bridge" is more commonly known as the Ponte Vecchio.

When they got out, my (adult) sons and I started clapping and hundreds of people gave the couple a big round of applause, so much so that they had to wait for the bride to stop crying to take the pictures. I love Fiesole, although it is not unknown to Italians, historians, academics, or authors, as it predates Florence by about a thousand years. And one caveat when catching the number 7 bus, ALWAYS validate you ticket, and always watch for pickpockets clocking the tourists. I've seen so many people shocked by having their pocketbooks and wallets disappear, and seen tourists with unvalidated tickets in their hands being fined (and/or arrested!) by perfectly multilingual transit inspectors. Claiming ignorance of the law and language is never an excuse.
