I haven’t yet signed up for your course and wanted to see these 30 videos as a “free trial”. You have a very charismatic way of teaching and it’s amazing that you put so much content for free as opposed to the “sign up for my mysterious course that I won’t explain until you pay” approach that many follow on KZbin. I truly respect that and appreciate all the effort you’re putting and substance you’re availing. It’s clear you’re someone who’s confident in their content and approach and know that actually putting part of your stuff for free is a more credible and respectful way of eventually getting subscribers to your course. Thank you very much.

So funny it was only a few years ago (maybe less than five) when I looked at my first document in Italian (for genealogy research) and I saw the word, "gli" and had not a clue what that could mean. And now, thanks to Manu and the Italy Made Easy videos (where I started learning) and eventually signing up for the Beginner's Course of From Zero to Italian, I regularly scan through thumbnails of microfilms on Family Search. And I can instantly pick out the important words to find documents more easily. For some families I now have the names of fifth great-grandparents.

I am a Brazilian (therefore Portuguese "madrelingua") and I can imagine how hard it sounds to English speaking people to master the use of these articles. Even to us (who speak Latin languages) the Italian is a little challenging (in Portuguese we have "just" 4 definite articles: 1 for masculine singular, 1 for masculine plural, 1 for feminine singular and, finally, 1 for feminine plural words), but what he said at the end of this video is really true: you MUST LISTEN a lot of Italian and the use of these articles will come automatically to your active vocabulary. Don't worry too much to master these rules. They help you to understand the concept but don't try to think about them before you talk. That will be useless and even dangerous for your learning. By the way: nowadays I don't miss use the Italian articles but it took me time to introspect and assimilate... Good luck! ☺️😜

Very good! The actual forms are: Masculine: der, des (+s), dem, den. Feminine: die, der, der, die. Neuter: das, des (+s), dem, das. Plural: die, der, den (+n), die. German is like Latin because this language still uses cases: nominative, genitive, dative and accusative. This makes the language complex but very vivid!!
