This is why SEBI reccommends getting advise from a NISM certified professional , Investment aims varies from person to person . My portfolio went down -10 % in the last 6 mos but after the small spike in Jan i got out of my risky holdings and i am mostly liquid now . One lesson i learnt from my years of investing and trading is ALWAYS TAKE THE ADVISE OF PEOPLE IN SOCIAL MEDIA WITH A PINCH OF SALT . They cater their videos for the majority , so relying on them for invetment goals is useless .

But on mutual fund you only have just expectation. On mutual fund your money could be pooled into ola, paytm, adani, Ambani and vedanta... those are with poor promoter quality and you don't have control of your own money.. You can pick individual stocks just to be and remain the boss of your own money..
