With all due respect but I feel like this advice is semi dated and not in tune with the reality of the current job market. Ive got multiple cyber certs, a bachelor’s from one of the best programs in the US, 4 years of IT experience plus have had my resume vetted more times than you can count and cant even land an interview in cyber after 6 months and probably 500+ applications.

Do you have a hiring firm or recuiter list you can reach out to? I think this realm it does become very important to pay for access to certain people as they can give you first shots at oppotunities that come up instead of publically listing them. Especially federal jobs.

Maybe it helps I have 8 years of experience as a slot technician. But I finally landed my first help desk job by putting I’m working towards my A+ and CCNA, they seemed really interested in that. I start the 16th and probably wouldn’t have even applied had I not seen just put you’re working towards it on your resume. Otherwise I would’ve been waiting to apply until I had my certifications.

First off Congratulations!!! and that is some of the best advice. I always tell people you don't have to wait till you have the cert to list it. If your currently working towards getting the cert just say its in progress.

This helps motivate a lot. I am trying to get my first official tech job. I’m a big gamer whos messed with computers since I was a teenager and it never hit me to enter the field. I’m trying now and I plan on making a KZbin channel to track my journey and use it as a diary that might help me and others. Love the video game notions!

Ats workday system automatically reject any resume. I spent 2023 unemployed the whole year over 1k applications with 20 year exp as wen developer and aws architect.

Also doesn't reject applicants. It's a filing system. The only time it may reject is if you have questions to answer before you go apply for the job and one of the questions you answered were "no" then the resume will get thrown out. ATS doesn't reject, the people do(hr, recruiting)

the best advice I received in regards to dealing with this was if you are applying for jobs and not getting interviews your resume sucks. If you are getting interviews but not getting job offers your interview skills suck.. Its harsh but it is 100% true and I learned that the hard way.

@@TheBeardedITDad I find that Claude is the best when it comes to anything related to coding, scripting, and commands. The majority of it's correct, although not perfect. This makes it reliable in that if you seriously need to figure out solutions quickly for a job or emergency, this can help.
