I have a question. Have you seen the meme of the movie, Father of the bride (1991) saying how people in their mid/40s were thought to look like 30 years ago? And they do look older compared to what we ”think” today, people (should) look at that age. Is it because they wore clothes that were dated at that time, 1991? What do you think? I also watched a youtube video discussing the thought that people in old photos look much older than people the same age today. And there one of the concludions was that these people who looked old, had pretty much the same hairstyle and clothes in same styles that they used to wear in their youth. And thus they ended up looking dated - and looking ”old”

Не соглашусь насчет цветов: зависит от цветотипа и контрастности. Контрастным брюнеткам, холодного цветотипа фиолетовый очень даже хорошо, а последующие бежевые цвета, которые показаны как "хороший" вариант - это просто убийство внешности.

I think wearing dated denim styles make you look older. And I think what you mean is not ”older” per se but what clothes make us look dated, like we were mentally older and not in touch with the everchanging world we live in.

Don't know if it was ageing but they said it can be. At WAlmart the other day an older female was in head to toe beige. She wore a long long skirt, too beige even the shoes were tan colored. They said on one video long skirts can be aging and now one color they say can be aging if you don't add a pop of color to it. So yeah, it probably had that effect on her. She maybe was kinda heavy set. We try not to stare at people. WE love to watch people's clothes and all though.

I luv purple 💜. I will stick to your recommendation and break the purple up. I disagree about fur...I don't wear mine with jeans and sneakers. I style mine in a classic way. The same goes for my pearls.

I love purple too and it really fits me. I have cold skin undertone and dark hair. And the beige colors shown as a good example and advice harm my appearance like nothing else. Don't break up on smth just because some blogger said. You are an adult person, just analyze whether it fits you or not. If yes, why break up?

being stuck in the past, like wearing skinny jeans with a moto jacket on a 40+ woman looks very aging for me. If you add a dated hairstyle then its almost costume like lol. However today societies are shifting, second hand, vintage are very cool and trends will soon become uncool because they promote constant consumption which is damaging for the environment.

Personally I think if you combine what here is described as an “ageing outfit” let’s take for example a Chanel/Chanel-like tweet blazer and skirt combination with pearls plus even a classic shoe and you combine it with some thing on the very, very other end of the spectrum like a very young person it gives not necessarily aged but rather “cute”, like there is a twinkling eye moment already included in the very choice of this kind of an outfit. I guess (to me!) how “aging” the whole thing comes across depends very much on the attitude the person wears the outfit with.
