It seems easy for the man to walk away. There are a lot of fatherless homes around. A woman normally has a deeper attachment to her child and doesn't abandon them as often.

@@wenditraub609 that’s not true. Some of these stories are about women who drop their kids off to others to take care of while they go on vacation with their affair partners. Then there’s the stories of women who don’t feed their kids. It’s kind of equally disturbing and disgusting. It’s not just a “man” thing to do these days.

Basically men can walk away whenever. A lot of them get paid under the table to avoid cold support too. More recently I've seen women give birth, abandon the child and refuse to pay cold support. It's still a lot less common because it's easier to prove who the mother is than who the father is. I would still rather see children raised by single parents than growing up in households with abuse
