I love Rammstein and this song cause Zeig dich is an realy great song ! Rammstein speeks about things like they are tell everybody not the truth, they killed people only because not everybody belives the same like priests ! And the way they to be unkind to many children ! As kid i was 8 years in a childrens home, there are nonns to rais us up and 8 years they beat me almost every day ! "We have lost the lights. No angel comes." In my opinion this means: we are losing hope (light ans angels as a symbol for hope). God, where are you!? We are desperate. Why don't you show yourself to us? Our faith in the church has long been dead. But we're slowly losing faith in you. - It's the perfect song for people in a crisis of faith. And that is typical of Rammstein. No one in the world will be able to relate to all the themes of the Rammstein songs. But everyone can identify with at least one song.

I love your reactions to my favourite band :) I think you did a very good analysis, I just wanted to add something: I think when he sings "Zeig dich" he's mostly talking to God himself! "Zeig dich" can only be the singular form of "Show yourself". I think he is criticising God for not doing something while all these things he is singing about are happening "im Namen des Herren" - "in the name of God". He also sings "Kein Engel in der Not" - "no angel is here when we're in need". So while I do think that he is a atheist he's still talking to him. Could be his "proof" that there is no God (in his eyes).

Almost every line sing by Till begins with the letter V, a corruption of the idea of the Holy Trinity. It's certainly calling out organised religion that uses an piety to hide behind in order to take part in disgusting abuses. Even when they're reported or discovered, little is done to address the causes of perpetrators, victims may not be belied. I have no interest in religion whatsoever and both Till and Flake have stated that they're atheists. Another example of a subject that many would never even consider writing a song about let alone performing it live to tend of thousands. You have to give them kudos, no subject is off-limits which is how it piggyback be.

Well, the answer to the question:„If there is a god, why does he allow all the wars and so on?“ is, that god has blessed us all with intelligence, but it’s our decision, how to use it. And we see, what the human species does with it…wars and more wars. That is unfortunate and dumb, but not god‘s fault. Some people may believe in god, some don’t, but the fact, that especially the Catholic Church does those wrong things, is immutable and disgusting.

It's maybe (not for me!) uncomfortable to tell believers that their god is a in the woods hiding mass murder. Religion, with hundreds of different destinations, is comforting those who're afraid to think for themselves and act properly on the knowledge we humans gathered together until now. It's a crutch, a broken one, which turns into a weapon when needed and divides us into uniformed and free thinkers. The latter I am.
