Before determining if you or your child has immune thrombocytopenia, your doctor will make an effort to rule out any other possible causes of bleeding and a low platelet count, such as an underlying illness or medications you or your child may be taking.
Blood tests can be used to measure platelet concentrations. Adults may occasionally need a bone marrow test to rule out other problems.
Patients with mild immune thrombocytopenia might simply need periodic checks and platelet testing. Usually, children improve on their own. As ITP frequently worsens or is chronic, the majority of people with it will need therapy at some point (chronic).

My daughter is going through ITP. I am in usa now. She is having 10k only but no symptoms. So docter said no medicine is required until we insist as there is no symptoms. They did all blood test. And confirm ITP. She is ahivhn it more than a year but no symptoms and no medicine.But her weight gone down 5 percent. I am worried why weight gone down, any suggestions? She is given good food but not increasing the weight. Junk we try so avoid and she don’t eat a lot. But junk she can have more if we let her like pizza big slice she can have 2 but 3 dosa will be difficult for her

Namasthe madam..my baby girl 4 years old got ITP problem she has given IVIG with steroids taking since 1months but platelets count not increasing now taken 3rd dose of romiplastin still not increasing...her platelets count is below 10k wat to do madam..she is active n palying n taking food heavily n also increased weight 12.6kgs to 13.8kgs in one month...but platelets not increasing...what to do madam ...please please i beg u reply to me...

Hi mam.. My wife platelets count was 10000,I immediately admited her to the hospital.. They have IV IG & 50mg steroids per day.. After that her Platelets increase to 1.7lakh..This happened to last month means 25 November..But tomorrow her Platelets decrease again and it's become 9k...I admited her to our nearest hospital..But they are giving me no hope..
