Enjoyed so much your beautiful video and review, about a plane you've flown a number of times and is sentimental! My first jet flight dates me... a beautiful flight to Mexico City in the evening, a DC-9 Aeronaves de Mexico from Matamoros, late 60's. A one-hour flight, unbelievably served a nice light dinner and drinks... my introduction to Oaxaca cheese! For fun, I booked a few flights out of Reynosa, to DF, on some beautifully renovated DC-6's, for a renewed nostalgic flying experience! SAESA at that time was owned I think by Aeronaves, and these old airliners were beautiful! I look forward to traveling on Aeromexico to some new destinations! Muy bien hecho! Thank you again!

I flew Aeromexico from TJ to Mexico City and onward to Oaxaca and Puerto Escondido in mid 80s. Great flights. The Puerto Escondido flight was a DC-3.

I feel you! Aeroméxico’s B737-700 has been my childhood plane, god I flew it a lot of times between MEX-LAX, MEX-GDL, GDL-ONT, I enjoyed all the times I had the chance of being in this aircraft. It was for granted to have a 700 almost for yourself when AM tried MEX-ONT, a lot of memories ❤️

Thanks for another great trip report, this one brought back many memories. My only recollection of flying AM was on their MD87’s out of SAN and LAX to PVR. Some in Clase Premier and some in coach. Always great service! And seeing those 727’s at MEX was neat! ‘Back in the day’…way before yiu were born, we flew Aerocancun and Alegro MD80’s charters (Suntrips) to PVR via OAK and SFO. My SMF didn’t have flights to Mexico then nor any Mexican airlines. Now way better with AM and Volaris onsite and several domestics flying nonstop into Mexico. Keep these videos coming! My childhood aircraft were Lockheed Constellations and DC-6B’s. Then came the 707 (my favorite aircraft to this day) and the DC-8’s. So you can imagine what I’ve witnessed in my lifetime. AAdvantage program was introduced on May 1, 1981 and I became a member on July 1, 1981; and a loyal member ever since. I reached lifetime status some years back. 🤓. I’ve also witnessed many terrific airline companies go belly up. 😞. So yeah, Emil, I totally am down with your sentimentality. Btw, off topic … what is your major at U of M? Happy to see you back in the skies … I’m going to wait until fall. 😉. P.S. never flew Aeromexico but did fly Mexicana ORD/MEX and ORD/ACA when AA scheduling didn’t work out.

Ive only flown with Aeromexico once as I am a frequent flyer with Volaris (not for long though as our last experience with them was pretty terrible). I loved the experience to be honest. Aeromexico is such a great airline although sometimes tickets can be a bit pricy.

Making mention of the lavatories being cleaned inflight--something else you don't see in the US--the front galley being curtained off--how far is Los Cabos from the US border?--this is a region known as Baja California although the area is in Mexico--what was that plate of food at the Salon Premier? Didn't realize Mexico City was at 7000',same as Flagstaff,AZ

As always such a great trip report. Thank you for showing AeroMexico to us. Seems like a great airline. I also loved the interior of Mexico City airport. I visited Mexico City in 2008 and I’ll never forget the approach over that beautiful enormous city. I felt like KLM’s 747 had to use every inch of runway while landing and departing to and from MEX. As always, a great report and you always have kind words for the crew. As a cabin crew myself, your trip reports are so appreciated. Every time I learn through your experiences as well. Keep up the good work you do :D

Según lo que yo se, la mayoría de sus 737-800s tienen pantallas individuales, nomas que si tienen como 3-4 aviones con pantallas al estilo antiguo, como este avión, las cuales cuelgan del techo. Esas si pasan la misma película para todos

My childhood aircraft were the DC-9s, 727s, MD.80s and the 737-200s. I still consider the 737-700 a new aircraft. The AeroMéxico 700s always seemed rather tired. I also miss the cloth, padded Premier seats. Those new leather, slim ones are much, much less comfortable and there´s no coziness to them. You notice the difference on the long haul 737 operated flights. AeroMéxico is terribly inconsistent. You appear to have been lucky, as all your reports on AM seem to have been in flights that have gone well. But my experience is that you usually either get an excellent, friendly crew and fantastic ground service, or a bunch of crappy FAs that really don´t want to be there. Same with ground crews. On international, long haul flights the crew are famous for disappearing in the galley and only coming over with a sour face when you press the call button. I usually only fly AM long haul if the Premier fare is cheaper than say, LH, AF, or even LAN. They are way better than Iberia, that´s for sure. Good report. Keep them coming!

Beautiful two birds,glossy paint job! Labeled for 'Guardia Nacional' so am guessing they're military property--the nose view you're referring to,the grey paint,reminds me of NWA's paint job before the company was absorbed by Delta

Michael would incur 'foot in mouth' disease if he tried commenting---more than likely,he's never been to Mexico,much less flown AeroMexico--if AM made any mention of starting service to Omaha,then we'd be in for an earful!
