Post race Monaco: Ferrari and McLaren rumored to have approached Game after his “Last to First” historic win. Ron Dennis was quoted “If Frank is willing to let a racer like Game go, a quality team would be dumb not to take him.” Frank Williams had this to say: We thought Nigel’s poor form was due to anxiety that he might not have a drive next season and hoped that by announcing he is with us through 1992 that we would see some more flashes of the Mansell of old. In Qualifying we did and we looked set for a double podium but he was snake bit again. Game did remarkably well not only picking up the pieces but by achieving a history making win. This is why we brought him to Williams. Some tell me that it was foolish to release him at end of season but I’m certain with a proven company man like Mansell and a two time world Champion Ayrton Senna piloting our cars, 1992 should be a complete sweep for us.
