ITS! ALIVE! | Van Finally Started after 3 Years parked / 1992 Dodge B250 Cold Start / Part 12

Finally I have a cold start for the 1992 Dodge B250 van after sitting for 3 years. Just by looking at it you would probably think it set a lot longer in time. In this episode of part 12 you will see the gas tank get finished up and go back in place with the new straps bolted. Its jerry rigged but was built to last. I will also show you how to install the fuel filter or at least I tried to film it lol. After the gas tank and fuel pump were finally installed we put fuel in the tank and try to start it. The battery gave us a hard time so it did take a minute of struggling to awaken the giant. We had to hook up a battery cable to my car for the van and that still was not good enough to get it turning over. When it did finally started it sounded surprisingly good and it had that classic muscle car or truck sound when revved!! up. But if you like to hear it finally running just watch until the end and le me know how it sounds. The next step is the back break work and stuff I shouldn't have had t do but it had to be done, replacing all studs and bolts $$$. The O2 sensor I sent you will be on the exhaust right under the drivers side door , if you crouch down and look under at the exhaust right at drivers side door you should see it on the exhaust. I am sooooo happy it ran!!!!!!!!!! ya! ya! ya! , Both rear wheels were not turning because it is not a posi track style rear end so more power is sent to the wheel with the least resistance so that sides brakes may just be a tad stuck or just not as free as the other side. its no big deal that's how most rear ends are made to work because when you are turning the inside tire and outside tire relative to the turn direction actually rotates at different speeds to one another so the rear end is designed to let either side get more or less power so they are not "fighting" each other when turning. This is also why when you see some cars do a burn out they only leave one tire mark because which ever tire broke traction first now has the least resistance and therefore gets the most power sent to it.

That's great to know ☺️ because I had no idea about the wheel resistance. But after cleaning that side that wasn't moving by hand it now turns freely. It was extremely rusted and had to replace everything in the brake drum. And the O2 sensor sounds easy to install, now that you mentioned I think I saw it on another car in a video on the exhaust pipe. Thanks for letting me know where it was and I'm really excited 😆 too and can't wait to hit the road maybe a short trip. The other day I just put copper brake lines on both back wheel cylinders leading to the rear hose. My dad did the back brake work installing all the parts inside the drum. I had no idea what to do with all those parts lol. But more to come and I'm glad! Your enjoying the progress.
