It surprises people because Bungie virtue signaled so hard and dumped so much money into activism that people assumed that they were immune to typical corporate brutality as a result. Because we’ve seen lots of failing businesses continue to be inflated with external cash because they push an agenda, people figured this situation was the same.

This whole situation, in my opinion, is the fault of management mentality. “Don’t over deliver” is how they ran the company and now other games who fought hard for business and are actively over delivering ….are taking players away. Meanwhile Bungie is virtue signaling, delivering DLCs like lightfall at a higher price point, and expecting players to stick around?

@klubbs617 only problem I have with it, is that it’s designed to be a signal, not to be anything of substance. Saying you are inclusive means little to nothing since they have no evidence showing they actually do anything other then talk about it in social media

I'm glad to hear an actual grown up opinion on things. Everyone else is pandering to the "it's so horrible" side. It's another day in corporate America. I think it's hilarious these same ppl that have complained about paying 100 a YEAR and what they get for it, are now up in arms about ppl losing jobs. Have they went outside?? Lol. Go outside and breathe for ten minutes and you owe someone $100😂. Ppl play this game for 1500 hours plus a year. That's less than 7c an hour. Be willing to give up more money to keep ppl working or stop crying.

At the end of the day.....those people will be fine. It sucks being laid off....but you deal with it, Move on to other things, and hopefully learn a valuable lesson that corporations cant really be trusted. Bungie specifically reminds me of the saying "Wolf wearing sheeps clothing," actually.

Correct. I made this statement in the video, and this video was actually more of a prediction video. I made it hours before the information came out and based my assumption off last Bungie history

Stop trying to absolve Sony from blame when literally every studio at Playstation is getting hit with layoffs, just because Bungie can publish games wherever they want their still under Sony so yes, Sony is to blame.

absolutely wrong dude. There are mountains of proof that bungie has been mismanaging this game, their employee's and the community for literally years now. Best example i can give you comes straight from their own Exec's. "Dont over deliver, you are creating patterns." This mentality didnt stem from Sony. This mentality lead to an over priced and weak DLC known as light fall. AND now that other companies have begun releasing amazing games to compete with D2 as live service....suddenly Sony is to blame here? No, this particular case has little to nothing to do with Sony. This is Bungie's fault....and they need to be called out HARD for this.
