ITS PREPTOBER 2024! Writing my first book| Tools I'm Using+ Writing Plans + Goals for November

Talking about preptober, Rough Draft Writing Challenge, the tools I'm using!
I pantsed my zero draft so now what I'm doing is going back through, finding the story and plotting.
It's been a lovely process and I'm super excited to spend the rest of October really prepping for the Rough Draft Writing Challenge being hosted by Heart Breathings which I'm so excited about!
I also kind of let you into my head space a bit and what it's been like trying to live as a mom of three very young babies.

I find myself becoming more and more of a planner and plotter. I think pantsing was absolutely great for me for my first few years getting back into writing. But now I am really seeing the excitement and possibilities of plotting! I'm not doing NaNoWriMo this year either and I'm not even doing a first draft this year. At first I was really sad, because I had thought that I would "always" participate. But it's really feeling right to not participate. Instead I'm going to be participating in my own challenge I am calling Aggressively Editing Fall 🤣and I'm going to spend a lot of time editing my first draft from last year's NaNo.

First off.. I’m obsessed with your shirt!!! And all this writing plotting content. I’m on the struggle bus over here trying to outline/plot .. I’m SO NOT a pantser but for whatever reason I kinda feel like this book wants me to surrender and just see what happens as a pantser. This scares me so much!!

That's so fun to have that intuition about the story you're trying to tell! Try the pantsing! I feel like that was what told me what type of story I wanted to tell and the parts that were important to me and now I'm just kind of going through and making sense of all of it and figuring out what more I need to have. I think if you feel you wanna see what happens with pantsing that it will absolutely be worth the experience ❤️❤️❤️❤️
