Him saying this is a good first step to get outta beta is a great point, this really feels like the most completed pack by far and even the launched felt so play tested and bug free, however even greater than that I feel like this pack felt like a fully fleshed out idea. The other packs seemed like the team wood were unsure and not confident about their own direction. This pack really feels like they took a step back and looked at what they wanted this whole game to be and took some fun and wild directions. It certainly doesn’t play like any other pack but it’s so much fun. I think it’s good they didn’t go outta beta with it but it’s definitely a strong sign that this game is going to have a full release in the best state it can possibly be.

the sea serpent sleipnir combo is busted, it just does so much wide damage. Feel like serpent probably needs a nerf but I don't know how they'd do it without reworking the ability a little. Maybe change the level progression from more snipes with the same damage per mana to same number of snipes (one) but with more damage per mana

Does getting out of a ‘beta’ actually mean anything for games now? Like, what actually would change for SAP or other games that seem to never get out of beta’s (but are definitely ‘finished’)? Early Access is what beta’s were 10 years ago. E.g. Fortnite was technically in beta long after it was a fully fledged and finished game, it just got a lot of content updates

Having paid DLC while still in beta seems pretty stupid. They're still allowed to make changes to the game once it's full release anyway.

That’s a fair point but, I think it’s also fair to say that unlike a lot of games with dlc the dlcs for sap actually add something and feel like more finished products at this point (especially puppy pack) I get that the added price for the pack are annoying tho.

The best way to play it is beluga and weakness. You can also use tapir or a whale but it's slightly less optimal. You can also use it as a buy sell with hurt units and pita bread. Gorilla, pirnaha and triceratops are the best ones for that.

It's only pay to win if you're playing customs. Otherwise, you won't see any of these pets, since generally packs play against themselves
