WOW!!! TINMAN! I am completely humbled. What an honor.... This is more than just a power saw to me, brother. It's been a privelage and a pleasure to be here on this channel and in this community. No finer people can be found. From this build alone, I have learned a TON. TINMAN, it has been an honor and a pleasure to get to know you and to learn from you. It's easy to tell you're a man of integrity and someone I am proud to call a friend... and I made up my mind about that BEFORE you decided to send me a bad ass saw! I'd like to thank EVERY other subscriber for being here and supporting the Tinman and this channel. This man puts in 60 hour work weeks, has a family and puts in countless hours off camera to produce the content we enjoy here. Hats off. Dave! Thanks for the shiny news parts on this saw, brother! She is by no means a turd anymore! CHEERS!

Cuts like a hot knife through butter. I finally got the old pioneer 1200a running like new. The reason I bought that saw, was because when I first started out as an electrician in houses years ago, I saw the tin knockers using the exact same saw to cut the holes in the floors for the heat registers. We had a good discussion about the saw. That was before the days of sawzall's.

I have an echo 4400 that my dad gave me, it’s about 20 years old, it still cuts like a champ, no mods. It was near 0 here in southern Illinois a few weeks back, and I wanted to get some logs out of the woods behind my place while the ground was frozen. That saw has an 18” bar. I cut from both sides bucking a 30” red oak and it chewed right through, twice as it was a good 30’ log. I had just sharpened the chain, and it performed great. Really good power saw in my amateur opinion

All I have anymore is these old series Echos, from 5500 6700 and 8000. Always hear a bunch of doubters when I'm out using it BUT, I have never had one not start no matter how long its been sitting. I have some Stihl equipment, but it just sits in the shed because I don't have the desire to spend half an hour trying to get them started each time. My 6700 which is essentially the same saw as this in orange, is also a very hungry saw.

Beautiful saw man, and Beautiful day to b out playing with it. I do find it a little funny when others use all those gadgets to file, I've always done it freehand.
