These are beautiful and your instructions are always so clear! I love how you stop after each step and show how it is supposed to look. That really helps a beginner like me. Have a blessed Christmas. These earrings are a gift for my daughter.

I love your patterns! I do have a suggestion for you about stiffening your work. In the ’70s, we used ”sugar starch” which was fine unless you had a lot of ants around. Now, my mother (who taught me to tat) and I place our work on a glass plate and spritz with water (use a spray bottle). Use a toothpick or crochet hook to straighten the picots, then spray with ironing starch. Leave on the plate for a bit then flip over and spray the other side and let dry. The advantage is that your project stays the original brightness.

I'd like to start off by saying that I love your channel. This is my second ever tatting project and I must say I'm having difficulty keeping up with the way you turn and knot. For some reason my work is becoming twisted so I think it's the turns and ties that are wrong. Is there some way I could learn more about how to do this correctly? There must be a rule as to which direction which thread is going. I hope you can shed some light. Also, it's not the color of your background Confusing the cameras focus, it's the pattern. Just use a sheet of white paper and all should be well (no patterns). Can I know the brand and guage of the thread you are using so I can get something similar here in greece 🇬🇷 please? Thanks again!! 💐💐

You can watch the transcript and read the steps as you do them.I got first half done beautifully BUT somehow got off with the turning and joining. The turning I wish you do slower.Somehowvmessed up after second side where you do 6dst.,pivot,6dsts. I have started over so many times trying to do different projects that I use a full ball of thread and all I have left is a little bit where you can see the gray cardboard through the thread. So disheartening to get that far along and then make a mistake and once you pull it through you're done there is no fixing I do everything like you knit crochet so I'm an artist so I paint watercolor acrylics and oils. Tatting I love it and it's very fast but I have the two stitches down easily it's the joining and turning that need more beginner projects. I was so pleased that I got as far as I did and then I messed up because you didn't leave it to where it was supposed to look like long enough for me to really be able to see. I think yours are the best tatting videos on the air. And so love that you go through every single step instead of saying you've done half now do everything in reverse to do the other half. So I will watch your video again. These earrings are beautiful.
