I've been carrying the Rogue Gunfighter no vis ankle kit with all the items you have there. It's a nice way to carry when you are in business attire.

i used one of your slim line med pouches as a wallet for a long time. I now use it as a holder for one RATS tournequite and combat gauze. It lives in my rear jeans pocket

Since you do these breakdown videos showing the contents of your kits and open the sterilized items, you should use the items like the HALO seal in demonstration videos showing the the correct procedure of application. You're tossing those items anyways so why not take full advantage of them?

This is an excellent breakdown - appreciate that.

Can you tell me in what case a npa would be used? I see these in all the advanced kits. An EMT friend of mine has never used one and tells me they should not be used on someone with head trama. Thx
@matthewhoward81168 жыл бұрын
An Npa is used when someone is either unconscious or not very aware of their surroundings if you get what I saying because with an OPA if their conscious you have to worry about gag reflex so that's where an NPA would come in handy, and you don't want to use an Npa with a head injury because there's a chance there's a crack in the skull and you poking around with something in someone's brain would damage it

Question about chest seals. How well can a person improvise a chest seal? I've seen other "med kits" people put together for personal use (not for sale) include some kind of plastic sheet material and they say it is for a chest seal, but how well would that kind of thing actually work? I have a feeling that it would not be very effective.
@ITStactical9 жыл бұрын
+Wedelj Always better to have a dedicated Chest Seal, improvised seals do work and our vacuum seal bags are great for that, but you'd also have to have tape to get proper occlusion. Hope that helps! ~ Bryan
@flipperbear98 жыл бұрын
A vented chest seal is easy, place plastic over wound, tape on three sides only. Don't tape all four sides. The dedicated chest seals are just easier, and seem to have maybe better adhesive in adverse conditions.

Great video, but you might wanna mention that you shouldn't use a chest dart or airway without professional training.

+mistermanji Like James Yeager says, just throw it in there. I may not know how to use it but if someone using my kit does know how then they have another tool to save my life.

Opinions differ, but most Paramedics, EMT's and physicians would not recommend that an untrained lay person attempt a needle aspiration outside of the gravest extreme. More importantly, good Samaritan laws generally do not cover people performing procedures not covered by formal training. This leaves you open for a life-ruining lawsuit from the patient or even their insurance company.

+mistermanji It's always better to be prepared, you might not be the one using it. Your comfort and training level will always dictate your usage. ~ Bryan

Do you guys ship to the EU? It's kinda hard to find medical stuff over here at even semi reasonable prices. Other than that I think a series on how to use some of it would be neat, I know you should always get some proffesionel trainning before using any of it, but it would certainly help for us that don't have the opertunity yet.

No NPA lube?
@flipperbear98 жыл бұрын
I was just going to add that comment; you should include a lube packet to make placing the nasopharyngeal airway easier/possible. Using an elastic bandage with velcro instead of the metal clips would be better as those metal clips fall off easily. Perhaps make the included cards have more information on the use of these products, because in the hands of non-medical personnel, an angiocath and a closed chest seal can be dangerous and lead to death of the patient. Great video!
