Disney has an Old King Syndrome. Means they have all these kids sucking at the nip who get paid along the way, but the monarch is still alive, and will be for many years. And what KK is doing strategically is funneling money from Lucasfilm into the hands of women she wants rewarded, regardless of performance. Iger might be bad for Disney, but KK is worse for Star Wars itself, and Lucasfilm on a whole.

Step 1 - Your 401k gives its fund to Blackrock. Step 2 - Blackrock’s ESG fund finances Disney’s DEI content Step 3 - Blackrock shorts Disney Step 4 - Disney sets fire to billions each year. Step 5 - Profit! …for Blackrock and Disney, but not for you. It’s 2008 all over again. Only it’s entertainment instead of real estate.

I have not seen a single episode of this shitshow, but I can predict where it's going just by what I've seen in reviews. Smilo Ren was a padowan on the mission to the lesbian witch planet. We will find out that not only was he there at the time, but so was his master the green bald lesbian jedi. When all hell broke loose and the jedi started killing lesbian space witches, he objected and his master gave him that scar on his back with her stupid whip sabre. Left for dead, he was the one that found and rescued May. He trained her in the force, while simultaneously expanding his own knowledge of the dark side. Leslie Headland is such a hack. She actually thought, "but what if the jedi were bad" would make a compelling story.
@hailcthulhu4194 ай бұрын
Well, that aged like milk. I gave Headland too much credit thinking she could make something approaching a coherent, albeit predictable, narrative. She is just a Star Wars hating, brain-dead, alphabet pinko.

This decade has had good moral and value teachings: DONT GET ATTACHED TO NOR WORSHIP ANY PRODUCTS. LET THE PRODUCTS GO BROKE IF THEY WANT. EMBRACE TRADITION, THE OLD WAYS AND THE ROMAN EMPIRE.

You mean embrace endless war, worship Washington DC as if it were a god, and don't mind the power-hungry madman in charge of it all? ...Seems kind of a strange tradition to return back to.

@hermitcard4494 In great irony, you are actually over target. A little digging in history, namely the “politically incorrect” side of history will reveal that Christianity was the original “woke” movement of the Roman era. And today, its sliding into its back into its hedonistic collectivist roots. People are literally returning to a time before Catholic Rome.

So they're spending $180M per episode, and everything we're seeing, from writing to set design, is subpar. I think there might be some embezzlement involved.

Actors and directors used to say "that property, IP, series, love it, such an honor to to part of it, hope I deliver". Now it's more like "that property, IP, series, love the idea of it, so awesome to make it part of ME, hope it delivers ... for me". And there's a massive substrate of pandering fanfic "journalism" to capture every witless word of self-regard from them. How the hell did we get here?

That would require Star Wars to have fans, and then for them to care enough to do anything for the IP. Which at this point is two massive hurdles to leap over.
