This MV was everything we needed! I saw on Twitter that the book Mingi is reading is about morality, so it's like their morals and beliefs are what's protecting them and making them strong; that aside, this song was teased at the end of Fireworks and first released for Kingdom's finale and appeared at the end of Eternal Sunshine too, and this version seems to have added traditional instruments in the instrumental! Yeosang was trapped somewhere else and instead of normal nice yeosang coming back, hala yeosang came and he’s pretending to be normal yeosang, he also symbolizes peace here that’s why when he came they stopped fighting and started dancing together that also explains the bread thing because birds eat bread and they symbolize peace wow i said yeosang so many times but yeah i hope that makes sense. This MV was amazing!!!! The end of Deja Vu Yeosang was in a black suit struggling with the hourglass and at the start of The Real MV he was in the black suit. Then when they came together to form the light stream, he was in the white suit reunited with the group. Its like all the pieces of the puzzle are connected.

I always love your perspectives on it! Seonghwa did say on Bubble that Mingi was a transfer and Yeosang is the "symbol of peace". I love this concept and this version of the song! Makes me hype just watching y’all vibe 💃🏻 In the MV you got 3 warring clubs/gangs that are trying to recruit Mingi the newbie into their clubs surrounding him at the beginning. With Mingi they are able to get Yeosang the symbol of peace that swooped in & brought them all together. Also Seonghwa’s huge brush reminds me of the one Minhyuk had in the hongjoong & 3racaha mayfly stage 😂

It hasn’t been confirmed but some ppl think that the storyline of this MV was inspired by the Korean movie ‘Volcano High’ that was released in 2001. In fact it actually had a few direct references to the movie (eg. the supernatural elements, the softball scene with Wooyoung and Mingi), and the in my opinion the MV kind of gives off that old-school high school movie vibe.

If anyone’s interested - in short ‘Volcano High’ is about this guy who comes to a new school (Volcano High) and in the school all of the students are a part of different clubs and all the different clubs fight each other throughout the film. If the MV is based on this movie it would suggest that the scene where Mingi was being “bullied” is actually the leaders of the different clubs trying to recruit him. Also all the different clubs come together at the end of the movie so it sort of ties in with the MV (except for Yeosang’s role I still have no idea who he’s supposed to be lol). There’s also an English dubbed version which became kind of famous particularly among the black community because it featured a few very famous black rappers and comedians (eg. Snoop Dogg, Tracy Morgan etc.) which is why I know about it, and have a very vague memory of watching some of it.

My interpretation of this is there is two yeosangs. The one in black has (accidentally or not) gone back in time (when he broke the hour glass) The white one is from that time. And this is the very beginning of how they met before everything, realising their stronger together. I don't know if this is true or not, but this is just my opinion. Apart from the meaning of the lyrics of the song, the meaning of the music video made me understand something. If you remember Ateez - Say My Name MV, you can see Yeosang is in a place. But at the end of the music video, he disappeared from there. Continue to Ateez - Answer MV, where you know that someone is wearing a white shirt and mask there. And after that it continues to Ateez - Deja Vu MV, where at the end of the video Yeosang is seen on a rooftop holding an hourglass. And the theory that I thought after watching the MV for The Real is that Yeosang is a person with a white shirt and mask. Because when he was on the roof of the building in Deja Vu MV, he seemed to remember something (Deja Vu), which was none other than that he was the one with the white mask, and he was also the one who seemed to have a plan that was going smoothly like in the MV this time. Because in this MV, he is seen wearing a white shirt with a small hat from Halateez. And that little hat is what convinced me why he wasn't shown this side of Halateez in the Say My Name MV and the reason why he disappeared from his place in the MV. But this is just my theory, if you guys have a different theory, please comment. Btw I always love your reaction guys 🔥🔥
