I don't speak/read Korean, so was relying on the English subs provided with the MV. From the first time I saw the video, I thought the lyrics were amazing/clever/poignant (as Eng subs), but I really appreciate the explanations/deep dive into the Korean lyrics you provided. In the support meeting there was another line about getting nothing done because "both my hands are holding on to us. I keep forgetting there is no "us"." Also, it's implied Hoshi's car crash was caused by him on his phone.... but he then searches for the phone! The addiction to "screen time" is real. 😩

i work as a social media copywriter and analyze people behaviour on social media, this song really talk me through about myself on how not only i became workaholic but i also became too addict to consume on about someone on social media or just through my phone in general that i ended up missing the reality check and although i do hurts myself like how the MV shows on how hoshi in a car crash and all he could be searching for is his phone escaping the pain or the sorrowness or curiosity of expecting something out of virtual world that neither exist as a real or a fantasy for escaping …….i feel like it does speak on mental health point on someone who are lack of social ability but active paying attention to the social media world when they supposed to be pointing attention towards themselves that are slowly deteriorating by consuming this prolong curiosity and what worse is that it is based on what this small flat screen (phone) would gives them in real time by that maybe expecting this other person might be responding to them but in reality they find themselve contemplating to reach them out or in other way is more of “how do i put attention to myself by expecting someone respond when i needed to decide to myself on my own life” screen time really does tells the reality of how we are living in this era and sometime we ignored it as a fact but what i feel this song talks about is more of like “instead of waiting for something, why not have a timeout and discover yourself through this world where you are pressured to be visible but in the end you are the one should be decide what best for you” cause its more of you are slowly losing yourself in this world by being online to the world and you never realize the you before are slowly disappearing and that is not healthy to begin or to start

Epik High says this is a song about depression that is hidden in a break up story... I would love a reaction from that perspective. It makes this whole thing even deeper when you listen.

Epik High updated some of their notes on the song and one of them was that it's a song about depression but should sound like a break up song. And i think it's such a strong picture, the screen time, because you just don't want to be in the real world, you scape into your phone but that keeps you isolated as well, keeps you from facing your issues (like your inability to move on for example) and the battery too, like yes it's ran out and you shouldn't charge it like you said but also that's what depression feels like, like you have no battery left and that's why you can't face anything real.

Yes! Been waiting for this. Tablo and Mithra Jin are such poets with their lyrics/verses. Hoshi’s vocals fit them so much. And ofc DJ Tukutz’ beats are just chef’s kiss. Thanks for the interpretations! Makes me appreciate the song and lyrics even more.

My thoughts when I watched and listened to this was that they were all so disconnected from the reality because they were living stuck on their phone. Their life kept on going leaving them because they were not present. Tablo couldn't heal, Hoshi lost relationship, Mithra was missing meaningful events in his life. Not caring even when you are drowning, blind to your own life crumbling away. Hung on the past unable to move on. It felt like it was masked into breakup but it felt more like missing the old you, maybe because the you now is unwell so you are hung up on the memories of yourself and people of your past because memories grow sweeter with time.
