Chan said that he was depressed at the time, because for quite a long time everyone who was with him was either giving up and leaving the company, or debuting. He was left alone. Therefore, he was afraid to get attached to someone again and was harsh and strict. The members said that at first they were afraid of him, but then they realized that this was how he took care of them, because he certainly wanted everyone to make their debut.

@@innieswife-h2i it was in back door era when they're doing mini fanmeeting and did some review their previous performance with monitor so stays can also watched it, but there is like trouble issue with it so the boys are struggling with the monitor bcs the staff didn't prepared it well and chan was so upset bcs of it, you can tell from his eyes, expression, and his moves, even the boys look terrified, but still he tried to be professional bcs it's a livestream

If you want to see Bang Chan angry, find any video in which someone does any of the members wrong. He's very protective of them, and if anyone tries to hurt them, he doesn't need to say a thing for you to know just how angry he is. Touch his kids and you'll feel his wrath. And all the other members have seen how scary he can be, so they'll walk on eggshells when he's angry. He really does get that scary. But it's never without reason. And they know it. They know him well enough to understand

There was a clip where you could see Chan getting mad. In’s necklace was too tight, managers were making Hyunjin set up the computer and he didn’t know how, and they kept making Chan move to get into the frame. He got up and threw his pillow down to sit. Then he finally fixed the computer. Everyone was looking cautiously at him that day

the moment Han said that Bang Chan said "you have to call me Huyng". All jokes aside, after hearing Chan say that the seniors are very strict about hierarchy, how did Chan endure when he first started as a trainee? probably the same as Han's or even heavier. Because a foreigner who is familiar with their country's culture needs time to adapt and cannot change immediately. Plus, Chan didn't speak Korean clearly at that time, so he probably suffered more

During his vlives he explains that he was very sensitive and had anger issues due to his trainee years, but its also due to the fact he went through puberty really late due to a medical issue which needed surgery, hitting puberty late causes depression, low self esteem, anger issues and immature tendencies. So all of this is why he was the way he was but with time he said he has worked hard to not to be so sensitive towards the guys cos he hates hurting their feelings.

Chan was especially strict to Felix bcs Felix was also Australian and had to leave his family as well and Chan rlly wanted them to debut tougher so he was extremely strict on Felix to make sure he got everything right but it was so much that later on an concert in Sydney Bang chan cried and apologized for being so strict on Felix who was still a teenager the way chan said "Felix..im sorry" and his voice broke at the end and everybody cried gets me everytime

The background info on Chan as a trainee is kind of heartbreaking to me. He's clearly a very stubborn person, so I'm not surprised he stayed with the company for so long, but it must have been really tough to make friends with trainees when they'd either quit or debut without him. A lot of the members have stories about him monitoring and helping them during trainee days, I.N would send videos of his practices to Chan and I believe Hyunjin and Chan talked about working and practicing late at night during the making of Red Lights. It's hard to grasp how much time 6-7 years truly is when that is most of your teenage years. And he spent that time a continent away from his family as well! Despite these little anecdotes about Chan, I think it's telling that there's not a ton of info about his own thoughts and feelings out there. He's talked about being in a dark place and being depressed at that time and that the members practically saved him and I do believe that's 100% true.

They lost Woojin to personal reasons and ghosted himself for 5 months off during Covid to recover and ended up in an anatomy of a fabricated scandal for it. Hyunjin also had to take leave because of another fabricated scandal during the filming of Kingdom of bullying as it’s taken very seriously but Hyunjin returned unscathed while Woojin was bullied by Stays for leaving of his own accord. Until their success with Stray Kids' second studio album No Easy released in 2021, was the band's first million-selling album. I’d say Bang Chan had his leadership skills tested and mastered just trying to keep them all together happy and healthy and they all faced disappointment and set backs even being with one of the 3 big entertainment companies as Stray Kids held their first world tour, District 9: Unlock, in 2019 and 2020. It consisted of 24 shows in Asia, the United States, and Europe; however, most shows were eventually canceled or postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In addition to others comments, just adding that he was also intimidating bc they said he was kind of a ‘legend’, this due to his seniority I believe, but maybe also for skill bc he trained for a long time. And also is just talented AF. To me it seems like he was in a slightly more elevated role, bc from what I gathered he worked with multiple trainees offering feedback etc. so I get the sense they thought of him as like a very strict senior classmate tutoring them XD he truly just wanted them to succeed.

I am so surprised that Chan basically screaming at them wasn't in this compilation. It looked like it was probably from the episode clipped at 4:30 judging by the outfits but Chan was handcuffed to something and all the kids walked off without freeing him and he was yelling across the whole set for them to come free him.

Yeah, it's the same SKZ CODE episode. It's after they found out Chan was innocent, and Seungmin was the murderer. After finding out, they made no effort to get the handcuffs off of Chan, and just walked away instead. Such a shame they didn't add it to this compilation.

Yeah, I think Chan was pretty scary in the beginning. I saw a video just the other day where Chan snapped at I.N for messing up choreography and then it just went silent. Lee Know ended up being the one to stand up in the middle of an otherwise awkward situation and helped I.N with the choreography, despite Chan looking pretty pissed off about it. Glad Lee know had been there to diffuse the situation and help I.N out. I saw another video too, where they were in the middle of an interview, and Chan swapped seats so that he could sit next to a couple members who were making a lot of noise. All the members looked at Chan in terror or flinched as he walked across the room and changed seats, then it went dead silent. Think there was a third video too, where Lee Knows In-ear piece wasn’t working, and Lee Know messed up the timing of a song and he got pretty upset about it. Chan could see how disappointed and upset Lee Know was, so he went off at the Sound guy and genuinely looked scary dude.
